If you are talking about The Edward Thompson building then originally it was to be converted to flats but appararently investigations have shown that its too far gone for economic conversion so it will be demolished and new housing put in. Well, that's the last I saw. That's perfect thanks, just what I wanted - I wanted to see where it would come out and what it was next to. Do you know if there are plans to do much with those office looking buildings on the RHS, out the front of the Sheepfolds?
Yeah the long term plan for that area is to bring the lower level around the river into leisure use, with a bridge down at that level making both sides more accessible. Whether it happens might depend on the success of this first phase with all the residential buildings going up.Not being greedy but, was there not talk of another LOW level bridge in the sunderland future master plan?
And this from last year...

Anyone know if they are pulling down the building near it that looks like a complete eyesore with all the other stuff being develope ld around. The club have stuck a huge we are back banner on the side but it would be a shame if the building is staying
The Council picked the name. Gave the public three to pick from. Aye their three choices which included the one they wanted and one they said had the most votes. Aye OK Council. They might but whilst its the most popular choice out of the options chosen by the council..they didnt provide us with a list of all the suggestions put forward from the public so we dont know if it was a fair choice overall...these things are fluid and i just think the sol will be used somewhere in the description when most use it in the language of the future.....
Iirc that's the only building not being demolished, its certainly going to be gutted & redesignedAye its all going

You are thinking of edward thompson building which was planned to be refurbed but seems has now been deemed impossiboe to do so due to its condition and asbestos so full demo is plannedIirc that's the only building not being demolished, its certainly going to be gutted & redesigned
I think it is now - think they found a lot of asbestos and it would be easier to demolish. It’s an ugly building to start with to be fair.Iirc that's the only building not being demolished, its certainly going to be gutted & redesigned
Yeh i didnt get the idea to keep it. Maybe just so they could use the name the printworks for it. Sounds trendyI think it is now - think they found a lot of asbestos and it would be easier to demolish. It’s an ugly building to start with to be fair.
Was wondering what was happening to that building. A while ago a security bloke said they were going to add another floor and turn it into a hotel. You are thinking of edward thompson building which was planned to be refurbed but seems has now been deemed impossiboe to do so due to its condition and asbestos so full demo is planned

I think the Keel bridge is very fitting, reflects the shipbuilding heritage of Wearside. The Council picked the name. Gave the public three to pick from. Aye their three choices which included the one they wanted and one they said had the most votes. Aye OK Council.
