Successfully used in James Bond films, sometimes they even go so far as using a double chop.

Anyone ever used one in a fight? I can't imagine it working out well.
seen a woman knocked out by a karate chop to the back of the neck, the lass who did it was a beast though

Only on arms in defence blocks it is also good used downwards and behind to the groin if attacked/ gripped from behind
A closed fist just feels better though in general and sprays a bit crovvy about for good measure .
The correct term is shuto ( knife hand ) and it can be effective if using it to neck or throat or under the nose but it is a dangerous thing to attack those areas meaningfully.
Even if youre going close to try to break the collar bone youre better off using closed tetsui ( hammer fist ) .
Never used it on a seagull mind .

How many have had their arm chopped off like?

The best defence against a karate chop is known as "the Borini". Timing is everything mind.
My god your're even more far gone than we first imagined.

It's a free floating bone in your throat that the tongue root uses as an anchor to move . Just don't hit people in the throat unless you actually want to kill them or see no option .

He was bit of a beast like
Are you military?
