It’s a no lose though. He comes in does well and he’s a miracle worker. He comes in fails and he’ll get the Moyes treatment as we do t really exist in the big picture

That would be true if we were just any club. but for years now the job has become increasingly difficult. It took one as good as BSA to save us at the time when Moyes had his scouts looking and deciding that it couldn't be done. His scouts were right; it couldn't have been done by Moyes.

But it is the veritable poisoned chalice now. It is clear the the club will say anything to attract a manager and then stymie him once he is in the job. Karanka and others will know at least as much as us. They know what to avoid. Other, better jobs at better ran clubs with stable ownerships will emerge. He won't be skint. He can wait for one.

Cant believe the likes of Karanka & O Neill are still being considered seriously on here. No doubt they are the best candidates which is exactly why they are non-contenders. At this moment in time their stock is still high enough not to ruin it at Sunderland. Talk of no risk to reputation & decent pay offs in the event of failure are just ignorant.

Well I wouldn't be against that but I still don't think the club will change just because of a change in manager. We aren't going to get a quality manager so he is the best we can hope for.

He does seem to be the best (available) option on the horizon, apparently has a knack for sorting defence out, also knowledge of success at championship level so IF it's to be him he could be the answer to getting some points?

I'm not convinced he'd take it if offered, because I don't think the club could be sold to him

I don't think he'll agree to come here, but one thing we actually would have in our favour for once is location. Apparently he's settled up here, family like it and kids in schools etc. Unless the Leeds job becomes available, then we're as good as it'll get without moving sticks again. I agree though, he'll not want to risk his still decent reputation, trying to turn us round with very little financial backing.

Gerrin
When's it confirmed?

After the cock-ups from Des, then the reiver meltdown, another big hitter storms in

Meltdown

Dear me, if toying with half a dozen squawking idiots is a meltdown then you must be right.

All kinds of silly people scream 'meltdown' these days over nothing .... devalues the whole thing

With every passing day you have to think Karanka is becoming a no-goer

Not having a go at you here but why the fuck is a manager concerned about the long term plans of the owner. Come in and do well have confidence in your own ability and then make yourself unsackable to a new owner. If you can do it with no funds the new owner may think he’s a good shout to spend the money if he has any
but can that be done ?? think what he means is if he sells to new owners
