According to reports, he's concerened about Ellis' longterm plans.....For me he's the best man out of the batch that's being linked.
Not having a go at you here but why the fuck is a manager concerned about the long term plans of the owner. Come in and do well have confidence in your own ability and then make yourself unsackable to a new owner. If you can do it with no funds the new owner may think he’s a good shout to spend the money if he has any

If he was going to be manager he would have been in the job by now. Ellis Short doesn't really have long term plans for the club. He wants to sell, but there are no buyers. So we limp on.

Karanka, or any other manager of that standard, will know what we know, and follow Fergie's advice when looking at a job in football; "Don't pick a good club, pick a good chairman" or words to that effect.

Have to agree but something or someone is putting him off the job!

Because he's a good manager and would feel if he bides his time he will get a better job at a much more stable club with clearer long term goals. If hes got half a brain he wouldn't touch us with a barge pole.

Sadly, have to agree with this.

Alternatively, if N. Ireland don't qualify tonight, then Michael O'Neill is a good option. Good example of someone doing more, with less.

The Scottish FA (also in need of doing more with less) have apparently been waiting for tonight's outcome before making an official approach.

Yes, would be another good option, not that there's many!
