I like George Caulkin more than Luke Edwards. But, in this takeover George Caulkin has been reporting from information from Stavely, the no red flags, imminent side of the arguement (Nothing wrong with that he had an inside source).
Edwards has never been as confident and he clearly doesn’t trust Staveley (Nothing wrong with that he probably had a different source).
But, despite what happened yesterday they are still praising George Caulkin and believing what he’s saying while crucifying Luke Edwards.
The inference in this tweet from Edwards is clear.
personally I wouldn’t trust Wor Mandy 🙄 as far as I could chuck her Botox

I have to be honest, I think this takeover bid may still have some legs as the UK government are historically not great at turning overseas investors away.

i have no interest in holding them to book personally.
If i'm honest I didn't give two fucks about what goes over there last year, I don't this year and I won't next year.

I don't think there are any legs left in the deal i think it's over and done.

Edwards has been antagonising the Newcastle support for most of this season due to his perception that we've been too harsh on his friend Steve Bruce.

His position on the takeover definitely has merit, but I reckon a lot of the opprobrium coming his way is some Newcastle fans conflating the two issues. Also there'll be numpties who view any criticism of anything remotely linked to Newcastle as a direct attack on the club/fans.

granted I’m at an age and stage of my life where football is no longer the be all and end all, but as a black and whiter I’d happily see Sunderland being bought out by a super power if it meant the local area, economy, employment all benefiting from it. It’s an obvious one to me.

Right about Stavely Janey. She is a barnacle, clinging to people and deals and creaming off them. I cant imagine how she was able to do this when she was younger and attractive. It is really baffling.

Not sure I'd listen to Edward's or Caulkin or anyone else actually. They are fed titbits possibly, but that's it. The wheels turn in secret.

In the end, it all depends on the Premier League, who have actually said nothing, and done less. They can be bought.

Not going to lie, this line of reasoning is one of the weirdest ones. Why should anyone be happy with anything that makes it more likely towns around Newcastle become little more than dormitories?

To each their own. I also am at such an age, but would genuinely be sickened by the involvement of such an odious regime in anything North East or Sunderland. The idea of legitimising their moral values through flag waving at a match is abhorrent to me.

We are so far in the sticky brown stuff that might sound ridiculous , but I mean every word of it. We are shite but are still a football club. So are you, for now. If they take over that stops. It will be gone forever.

Interesting that this proposed money into the wider community is mentioned now, rather than before, although I don't doubt that they intend to do as much. As with City, it's all.part of the game. Seeking close associations for the day when they need friends. They have no interest in football, Newcastle or the Nort East.

This is a smokescreen. They were buying the club as an investment and yes, would have improved training facilities and the ground. There may have been a direct flight to Riyadh added to NCL but they were hardly going to transform Newcastle into Manhattan!

not all Newcastle fans live in Newcastle nor Sunderland fans in Sunderland. I spend a hell of a lot of time down Seaburn / Roker so would welcome any big investment in that area. I’m sure a lot of Sunderland fans who live closer to Newcastle would welcome investment. That’s before potential employment boosts.

I think they’d have probably followed suit and did similar to what was invested in Manchester with the City buy out.

It was mentioned before. A lot. 'patient approach', 'investment in the area' even the inclusion of the Rueben Brothers was an indication of the direction it was going.
