They also question how Saudi citizens can now legally watch PL in the country.

If it's approved it sounds like the Saudis are going to buy the PL rights which is feasible. Although until the rights are actually purchased by the Saudis they have effectivley banned anyone within Saudi being able to watch Premiership football, probably not the wisest move if they have just bought a PL club.

If it's declined it sounds like it's a retaliation to the decision, more feasible.

The Saudis just recently bought the rights to Serie A.......could the same apply to the Premier League???

And it is for the entire MENA region, for something like 500m. To lose access to one of the largest and richest countries in the region devalues that contract. If they now want to sell the PL rights separately to Saudi then Bein have the PL over a barrel.

Not quite - they have a deal to host three Italian Super Cup Finals. What I didn't know was that BEIN have "blacked out" Serie A coverage in the region.
