I've had their shit rammed down my throat for over 45 years mate. I'll jump on anything negative that happens to them. Tbh their shitness is all we have to cling to at present given how utterly small time and shit we are with these fuckwits in charge. They will not accept their position at the moment is a million times better than ours and all they do is howl like fannies about how badly done to they are. I make no apology for that. If it upsets you then put me on ignore. Write this with the best will in the world btw.

It certainly doesn't upset me in fact I agree with every word but it doesn't do you any good to get utterly consumed by them. Anyway we are all on the same side my apologies. Looks like you were born the same year as me so we will have had a similar journey.

That's ok mate. Trust me I've a lot of good things in my life and this thread interests me a lot. I lived in Washington so was surrounded by them and worked with them and they, even my mates, can be unbearable. I had a season ticket for years and first time was 87 when we were in the 3rd Divisuon. Used to go to away games with the Shields branch. I moved to Wales 3 years ago and this board keeps me in touch. A new friendship blossoms as we obviously have a lot of similarities in our support of the Lads 👍

Looks to me like Bruce knows the Fakeover is off
I also see crying about the Ashley seasons and the poor points return and how it was great before. Yet they fail to see the clear decline even after they mention the points in the 14 seasons prior to Ashley!

"In the 14 seasons before Mike Ashley arrived there were ZERO relegations or seasons in the Championship and these points totals: 78, 77, 72, 71, 69, 68, 58, 56, 52, 51, 46, 44, 44, 43."

They were heading one way come the end of the Hall/Shepherd era and it wasn't up. Yet Ashley is to blame for stopping the decline, albeit taking a relegation hit. He recovered the financial mess they were in over the first 3 seasons I think. He didn't go stupidly daft with the spending chasing the scraps left behind by the big clubs with the financial clout.

Some of them really are a special self entitled bunch that don't realise they 'bought' the success helped by the growth of the Premier League brand/money during the 90's and also helped by Shearer's goals of course. It eventually caught up with them when Shearer went and the finances weren't sustainable they reverted to type like they were the previous 30 odd years before.

I wonder how many of the pre '92ers think they're deserving of league titles/Champions League?

Not many I'm guessing. Most of my Mag mates around the 45-55 year old mark are knowledgeable, loyal and watched them the majority of time they were shit. I agree the 1992ers are the worst. Say for example we got a rich owner and won the league in 5 years, some of our younger supporters wouldn't know anything else but the Lads who had stuck with us through these horrific times will enjoy it more. The Keegan Bandwagon jumpers are to a man the most annoying and that seems to be where the delusions come from. The older guys wont even entertain them. Theres a good few from where I'm from. I heard of one kid went to the 92 Cup final and then declared he'd been a Mag all his life when Keegan arrived. I think that fat get with NUFC on his belly used to follow Sunderland too. They're a funny lot. When we eventually get our house in order ( and I've no doubt we will) and the Chancers fuck off it will give us something to shout about rather than focusing on how bad and unrealistic they are.

They've had 44 seasons in the top 10 of the top flight. So the majority of their history has been outside the top 10. Like ourselves their glory days were in the early years of football.

The Keegan and Robson eras were the exception, not the rule. Even these good periods were separated with some very medicore teams, probably of a similar standard to what they have now. Dalglish's second season, Gullet was uninspiring, then after Robson but before Ashley came they were average with souness and Roeder. Roeder did well as a caretaker but struggled when he got the job.

The keegan and Robson years has left them with a sense of entitlement. They think they should be going toe to toe with Liverpool and Manchester United. They look down at more successful clubs like Everton and Aston villa. They aren't humble. That is why they aren't well liked up and down the country.

Even though they have had periods of underachievement, considering their fanbase (though not to the extent of Sunderland) there's 6 football clubs that are clearly bigger than them. Then a clutch of clubs who would argue they are a similar size.

When taking the above into account, the truth is that this season is probably par for them. A good solid premier league team.

I'd ask of you monitor IP addresses to prevent an alter ego but I recall from years ago @Sima being a bit of a downloader, so no doubt he has a VPN to hide behind.

I think the owner of this twitter trumps @Exile 1968 for obsession -

Like they didn’t wish Ashley’s helicopter would crash after the Leicester owner died in a helicopter crash

Yes, IP addresses are monitored as a matter of course but as you point out, it's not a definitive answer.

A more effective solution is for members to report any suspected alter egos of banned posters and we'll have a look.

The usual recidivists are rarely capable of altering their posting styles sufficiently to fool the SMB's Clouseaus.

Already posted during Sima's last ban that Andy H only ever popped up when sima was on a ban. This is the only time both seem to have been active, as I say, after I pulled him upon it.

Circumstantial, I know, but the know it all, posting style adds a bit to it.

Does this not just mean you’ll be bombarded by self appointed super sleuths who get weirdly paranoid about alter egos based on Absolutely nothing ?

EDIT. In the name of democracy, are you encouraging people to report anybody who is suspected of creating an alter ego / new account or only fans of NUFC ?
