He couldn't perform in the Premier League. Didn't want to be at Newcastle and only performed when he returned to France.

The only fact you got right was the GD so how is the debate over? 🤔

Benitez after most teams were on 31 games. He also lost the next 2 games and GD went to -12 and it took 35 games to get more points than Bruce currently has after 31)

I forgot that the season before, Benitez had exactly the results giveing the same points and goals after 31 games. Though this time they were in 12th.

There’s been countless good players from overseas who for some reason don’t cut it here. It’s a non starter of an argument to say that because somebody can do it in one league he’s guaranteed to perform here. It simply doesn’t work like that.

I agree but he barely played in England and under two negative managers. Under the right management, I think he’d do really well.

Sometimes players just aren’t cut out for here. Look at Verón at Man U, couldn’t have a better manager than Ferguson and he flopped. Maybe Thauvan could have shown more under different managers, we’ll never know, but he showed absolutely nothing when he was here. Fair play to the lad though for going on to have a very good career back home.

i already agreed with that point.

I’d say the style of play was equally important than the coach(Moyes got the best out of players once).
I know Benitez is often criticised for his man-management, so that could have been a factor(equally he seemingly got the best out of Townsend).
