What a player he was. That Welsh team of the 70s was some side. Had the RWC been around back then, JPR would have had at least one winner's medal to his name.

Not really a rugby fan but Wales in the 70s were tremendous to watch, household names and full of charisma and class - like the Brazil of rugby.

Remember watching that game with my mam. Couldn’t believe he had survived at the time… was only a bairn. But he got up face absolutely in bits. Went off… got his father to stick 35 stitches in his cheeks and came back on!!!
