RIP. I loathe rugby but I remember with some affection a few of those seventies players and JPR Williams with his long hair and socks around his ankles stood out. They were amateurs then and he was a doctor in real life, an utterly different world.

He was a lunatic. I went to a wedding he was at in Cardiff maybe 15y ago and he was smashed. Was offering people to go into the garden so he could sidestep them. He absolutely did me.

Used to love that Welsh side of the 1970s and as mentioned JPR was not only as hard as nails but also a brilliant player. This is one of the best passages of play I've ever seen with JPR finishing it in typical style.
