He plays for LIVERPOOL. He does not represent Sunderland anymore. Neither the club nor the city. That now is only where he just happened to be born in. That is where it begins and ends for me. Everything else about Jordan is Liverpool.

Sometimes I think Sunderland fans put too much emphasis on the fact a player was born in the city. Why?

Inclined to agree to an extent. SAFC won’t have been on his mind last Sunday. It’s a good accolade for the city ofcourse but judging by social media a lot are going way OTT. Milner was brought through Leeds youth system but I bet none of them are going on like a lot of our lot are over over Henderson. For example.,

Why do you think that a Sunderland fan wouldn’t be thinking about his team playing in a play-off final?
I would go as far as to say that he will have thought about the club a lot. No proof of course, but under the same circumstances would you not think about the club?

Not sure he will have, Is it even certain he’s a Sunderland fan ? Photos when he was a kid suggest he was ironically brought up a Man United fan.

deffinitly a sunderland fan i work with people that went to school with him and use to work with a really gud friend of his

Kids wear shirts of other clubs sometimes. There’s no other evidence he was a Utd fan other than he had a Utd shirt as a kid, as far as I can make out.

I had Real Madrid, Ajax, Inter Milan shirts as a kid at various points. Doesn’t mean I wasn’t a Sunderland supporter.

Because he went to our games, with his mates. And still does come to our games, and is in with the fans.
