Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

We'll be f#cked if we sit back and invite pressure in the PL.

We'll need to fight for every ball, and that's were players with a high workrate come into play. It'll be scrappy at times, but we need to match the oppositions energy, because we'll be outclassed in quality against most sides.
We will also need nous and leadership particularly with our young team.

But not for the current England md manager who I’d wager is more knowledgeable than you or me imho.
You are usually a decent poster but you’re absolutely obsessed with bringing back a bloke finished in the premier league.

You also appear happy to ignore how’s he’s let many people down by going to Saudi for even more money than he had already.

He’s in the England squad because he’s a good bloke to have in the dressing room and won’t actually play, the manager pretty well told us that.

Because he is exactly what is needed, I apologise for being enthusiastic/ obsessive :-)

Like any decent sports fan I’m appalled at the Saudi sportswashing ownership of our neighbours. Whilst I don’t think Henderson should have gone there to compare the two is nonsensical imho.

JH coming home will be fantastic for the team, club and city.

However, he went with the intention of adding several more £million into his account, and had to toss aside much of the things he had said, supported and stood for in the past. Those things were important to a lot of people and they felt incredibly let down by his decision to forget about them in his pursuit of $$$.

It's been acknowledged that he is no youngster and can't run as fast at 34 years of age. He is undoubtedly a superb leader and captain. However I think it is important that we select an appropriate role model as a captain. I would just prefer that there were better role models for our children at the club such as Luke O'Nien. His behaviour while playing for the club, and especially in the play-offs, was exemplary and inspiring.

I would prefer the club looked elsewhere.
Trying to dehumanise Hendo behind your keyboard! No words can express my disgust! Hendo is a wonderful person, husband, son and father. He is a person of integrity - all his school mates, family members and former colleagues will tell you this. But not good enough for you obviously. You should be President of the United States - you seem to think you are above all.

.. I see the keyboard bully is back. Clueless ..

This young team have played more games already than some senior pros. They've also had the nous and leadership to come back in games when written off. They're nowhere near as wet behind the ears as some are making out on here.

I'd have Henderson back if terms are right, but he'll be in for just as big a shock as our lads if he comes back. He's used to playing in sides that dominate the ball and games, he'll not get that here and he'll have to much harder than he's done in the last few year.

He'll need to make up for that. His grinning chops at Wembley is a good start

Who are you - another Hendo hater? I stand up for a good Sunderland lad - no more, no less!
.. No you are a little tit who thinks others are not allowed an option. A little pissy keyboard bully. I am on the opposite side of the political spectrum to Kent_Mackem and we both think you are silly ..

I'm not sure about that but he too old now.

Being on the subs bench for a few England games is all well and good.
We’re also not Liverpool either whose aims are a tad bit higher than ours. If he comes in and plays apart in keeping us up no one will give a shit and it’s a nice redemption arch for the lad as he left the league when he still had something to offer it. I have a feeling we were the only two English clubs he would’ve played for tbh.

He was finished in the premier when Liverpool let him go. We need better.
Not being good enough to command a starting lineup place for a team challenging for the title, doesn’t mean he isn’t good enough for the entire league. He is definitely good enough to play for us still.

I think a lot of people feel burned by the Ledbitter return, but Henderson still has a lot more to give than Grant did. As others have pointed out, Henderson is still being selected for England, which none of our other squad are being.

It all depends on wages for me. I don’t see Henderson coming here as his wage demands will be too high, but if he’s willing to take a haircut on them, then I would love to see him return. His mentality in the dressing room alone would be worth a few extra points imho.

I couldn’t care less what you think mate - you strike me as a drama queen. Relax - take a seat!

You were making nonsensical political ‘woke’ comments which made you look daft on this thread.

Most SAFC supporters can see the massive benefits of bringing JH home me included but I can understand the views of some SAFC supporters who don’t share my opinion.

I certainly hope we can do a deal and bring JH home this summer.
