Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

I can't think of a single reason myself. I don't think he would require big wages. He's a current England international, never had any major injuries, is a captain and a leader.

Feel free to tell me the reasons why he would be a poor signing?
He offers the experience we need and fills the role that Brown and Evans were in for the championship in that he's the experience amongst a young squad.
Football had moved on since the likes of Bould being signed and making a difference back then (although that was short term before his injury)

Having said that, we do need a squad, strength in depth and some experience. We’ve seen the likes of Milner make a difference late into their careers.

If the finances are right and Hendo still has the legs (even to come on and see vital games out) help in the dressing room / training ground then I’m not against it.
Speaking of Milner he is also on a free, wouldn't be a bad shout for rotation and experience although 39, 40 end of the season may be pushing it like

Can understand why people don’t like what he did in going to Saudi; I totally agree with them. But needs a bit perspective - just one person making a daft decision for cash, and then he had the sense to get out. It’s not remotely comparable to a horrible state owning a club. Shit move by him, but it’s history now. The reality from a football perspective is that it would be good for us to have him in the club again for this next stage.

I’d like to see him return for nostalgic and experience reasons.

Truth be told I haven’t seen him play for years so no idea if he still has the legs or not

IF he is prepared to drop his wage to fit in with us there is no way he will accept a one year deal. It will be his last one so I'd be shocked if it was a one year offer but I wouldn't mind it including the 2nd or 3rd year of an offer to be part of the coaching side (Wages dropping massively when that happens obviously, but get's his foot on the first rung of the ladder into future management) and I wouldn't mind a clause of a money incentive of a bonus if we do stay up.

I have seen the threads on here and I know he was at Wembley (He always would be as he's a fan) and I heard on Talk sport mentioning it, but apart from this place where has the links come from? Didn't him or his Dad rule us out of a move back in January (Nowt wrong with the fact he wouldn't want to drop into the Championship with a future World Cup approaching, but has there been any comments from him to give credibility to the rumours?

Luckily he's got a bit of PL experience so it won't come as a surprise to him
The lads in his mid 30s. People saying hes playing for Ajax so he must still have it etc. Im just adding a note of caution. The PL is all about pace and acceleration.

Two players pushing 40 played in it last season. I'm sure he'll be fine
