It’s the experience he brings to the whole squad. The winning mentality. I also think he’d be likely to come back on sensible wages. He wouldn’t rob us. He’s made for several lifetimes.

I’ve never booed a SAFC player previously,his actions deserve protest.I agree sport is broken in general due to money.No respect or admiration can be given to anyone who takes dirty money,it’s not as if they are short of a bob or two before signing.
Let’s hope he doesn’t sign & my small mindedness doesn’t happen.

At what point do you forgive and forget.

The mags have sold their souls to them. If all of a sudden there fans realised the error of there ways, and said nah fuck this, it wrong let’s move on, start a protest (they love that), and get these fuckers out, would you have more respect for them?

Hendo was very, very wrong for doing what he did at the time. That’s especially more so the case when prior to that move he was very much and advocate and ambassador for everything they stood for.

He paid for that mistake, he lost his England place, fell out of love with the game, and by all accounts hated it. He quickly realised his mistake, forgave a lot of money and moved on as quickly as he could.

At what point do we accept people make mistakes? Have you never made a mistake in your life? Are you saying that Henderson should pay for that for the rest of his life, or do we allow people to make mistakes?
 
I get the argument for not signing him, it was one I was fully behind. I'm fickle and a hypocrite as I'd sign him now
However the comparison in signing him and the mags being owned by the Saudis is beyond pathetic. One is signing a fella who went there to earn ridiculous money and ruin his legacy with it, the other is a whole club being owned by a regime who the worst of the worst the world has to offer. A fanbase who petitioned to be owned by them and celebrated the takeover like they'd won the Champions League, Fa Cup, Premier Leave and The Chase. That club cheered a bloke onto the field at the lopsided shit tip and at Wembley who was behind sanctioning the murder of a journalist

Please don't compare the situations

I’m not sure about that. There will be many for whom it will not be an issue at all. There will be some that have issues that could be won over after good performances and a bedding in period. There will be some who will never forgive him no matter what he says or does. There will be a handful on here who bring it up every time he hits a pass or shot that goes astray.

Overall I think he would be welcomed back with open arms by the majority. Whether it’s a good idea to bring him back from a footballing perspective is another debate altogether where opinions will differ widely.

No mention of him still being a very very good player who would add to the side with his experience , quality and leadership. Sometimes you have to look beyond resale value and focus on the here and now
At this moment in time Jordan Henderson would be absolutely perfect for us going into a PL campaign with a ridiculously inexperienced squad.
 
It's a yes from me - we're crying out for some experience in midfield and he's still a top player. Free transfer, not huge wages and a 1-2 year contract and would definitely be a value for money signing. "The model" isn't all about signing 18 year olds, look at Danny Batth for example.

Couldn't care less about the Saudi stuff and neither would any player at the club or 99% of our support. We'd be adding a real leader to the dressing room and a great pro, no brainer IMO.

Seems pretty clear he knows he made a mistake going there? Unless he's still bigging up Saudi this season, which I can't recall seeing. We're all human and people can make stupid mistakes but seemingly he abandoned the Saudi club as quick as he could and won't be going back.
There's no comparison to the mags who even now still love their saudi owners regardless of anything they do as long as they look to be close to winning things every season.

Ofcourse bringing him back depends on him, he would have to lower his wages a lot and maybe accept not starting every game, up to Regis that last part though.
