Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

I'm sure you'll be first to tell us if he does return
I'm highlighting that something went on before (which I know about) and just giving my opinion on now/future given the info I have.

If things have been smoothed over, then he may sign (I'd hope so as he would be a great signing) but I'm not party to that info.

Keep yer hair on man...
Think he'll come back now?
dunno mate, I've not heard nowt for yonks. I'll try to dig.

His experience didn't do much for Ajax when it mattered at the end of the season. it's a no from me, unless he's playing for vastly reduced wages and a contract no longer than a year, with an option for a second.

I want young excitement, not old and end of career (regardless of what Tuchel thinks) deterioration.

You wouldn’t have had Steve Bould then ?

I get why this could be seen as a sentimental/lazy link, but I honestly don't think it's the maddest move in the world. He's still in the England squad; he knows the league like the back of his hand; he would be great at driving standards in training; he suits our style of play; we are losing a starting box-to-box midfielder, and don't have one ready in the wings.

On the flip side, he's old, will be on decent wages, and doesn't suit Speakman's MO.

I'd honestly not be surprised either way, but I certainly wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

I think you are a good poster mate but wrong on this imho.

JH would be a tremendous signing for our club and whilst he shouldn’t have gone to the Saudis he got out pretty sharpush.

His leadership, experience and nous is just what we need and he would be a massive help to our young lads.

An absolute no brainer to get him in if he wants to come.
Thanks 😊

He did leave but should never have gone in the first place. He knew what he was going and how much they wanted him given his earlier stance. He also helped their wc bid before going. On that basis its a no from me. On the footballing side I understand he's not pulled up trees in Holland so perhaps there's better out there.

Think a lot of people look back on his time of the club with Rose tinted specs on. only played 23 times in total for us, debut for us for as absolute shocker, then Schwarz came in the week after allowing us to rejig the system and get Micky Gray forward on the left whilst he covered.

Undoubtedly it might have been good to have him around the young players, but not when he spent over half the season in the treatment room.

He's only just about to turn 35 and surely a 1 season deal and agreement to get into coaching, if a. He's any good at it and b. It's something he wants to get into.

If he was even close to his legs going or his desire dropping, he'd not be captaining Ajax and wouldn't be in the England squad.

If wages are vfm, it's a no brainer.

I repeat, there's no comparison to be had with Leadbitter
