Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Just read for 120k a week? We don’t want to be going down that road like.

I’ll be honest.. I don’t think the club will do it. They have their model

I honestly think he’d come and play for £25k a week. He’s set for life. 2 year deal to get us cemented in the league. Maybe a bonus if we stay up. He won’t hold us to ransom. Grant Leadbitter all over this.

There's a lot to like about the idea, but all depends on the wages. Even with a big cut he's bound to be the highest paid player at the club. That's a big dent in the budget for 'good to have around the place' and 'great influence', as it's money that can't be spent on other transfers for players who might be playing for years. To justify being the highest cost in terms of wages you'd be wanting him to play the majority of the games.

If hometown nostalgia makes him decide to do a year for a pink slice and bottomless coffees at Sue's Cafe though, snap him up.

I don't think he'd want that much to play for us. He's set for life anyway.

He was before he went to Saudi! Didn’t stop him wanting a little more despite crashing his reputation and compromising values and morals he’d previously stood up for.

That aside, with competent and mobile players around him, he’d still be useful to most teams in the premier league

Quinn said he had to convince Henderson it was a great move for him and was a good deal for the club!
Said the same about one of the most exciting strikers I've seen in my 60 years of support - Asamoah Gyan, was so looking forward to watching him that season. FTM
