Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

I get what you are saying NOW however I was questioning what you said earlier … here “My opinion anyone who took saudi coin ,would just come here and rip as much out the club as possible” …. 2 very different points
He went to help his mate and mentor Steve Gerrard. I'm almost certain he doesn't go without him being there. Henderson certainly paid the price for it in the media. Let it go man, he is one of us.

Edit: Just realised I'm quoting the wrong person. Soz

I realise what you say ,however I'm of the opinion that a person who would do that without apology is capable of doing anything for money .I'm not saying he would rip us off ,just that I would be wary of him .On a plus I'm glad we can air our opinions in a civil manner

So he’s good enough to be in and around the England squad but not for us ? Yeah ok.
“The model” won’t keep us up. Without genuine older heads with actual experience we will struggle. So unless we’re accepting relegation expect some older players brought in.

I listened to talksport driving home after the playoff semi final second leg.

After reliving that Ballard moment the presenters went on to speculate how Sunderland might approach recruitment should they be successful in the playoff final.

Both presenters agreed the most obvious transfer of the summer would be Henderson returning.

As a mature, dedicated professional capable of mentoring young players at the club while still being capable of leading by example on the pitch they described it as a complete no brainier for the club.

Time will tell ….

Exactly what Brighton did so well with Wellbeck, Milner, Lallana. We need our model complemented by top level experience.

At 35 and being away from the PL a number of yrs, I'm thinking of the likes of Casimiro struggling with the pace of the league, and it worries me that he won't have the engine to get about like he did. Let's not forget, he'll be expected to do a lot of heavy work in a side that's just got promoted.

If it comes off and that's what the club want to do then fair enough, but he'll not be cheap and I'd hope that wouldn't come at the cost of some other player/s.

We will play similar to how we have in the playoffs imo. Can see us being quite structured and we will need some experience like

No doubt, bit if we play like we have in the play offs we'll get battered.

If the club think Henderson can still do those hard yards in midfield then so be it, but its a worry for me as we're already on the backfoot coming into this league as favorites for the drop so we're in real need of pace, strength, height, and some much needed physicality in the middle of the park.

I guess we'll see what the summer brings. It's going to be a very interesting one, that's for sure.

I wouldn’t go that far, he also has offers from Serie A too.

Im including myself in this btw but he will have much better offers and he will want to remain in the England squad more than anything

He’s playing at a much higher level than people are giving him credit for
Jack Clarke had offer from Serie A with Lazio but picked Ipswich in the prem instead. Playing week in and out in the prem will be better than the odd champions league games for Ajax, but wasn't there some rule if he came back to England for the next couple of years he would have to repay a fortune in tax to the Saudis in back pay.

If we lose Jobe which looks nailed on we need some one to hold the balls and win it for others. Would be great for the dressing room but let's see

I remember thinking Steve Bould was past it when we signed him but his experience helped us stabilise. Hendo would offer us the same been it, seen it and done in mentality. I’m in.
The three sides that stayed up three seasons ago ( all newly promoted) brought in experience ( especially down the spine ) -watched a podcast on it earlier .
All had good strength in depth as well
