Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

He was selected for an England international squad by a vastly experienced manager.

He plays deeper role where he's no longer a box to box midfielder.

You need to stop digging.
Fair enough I’ve explained earlier in the thread why I don’t fancy him. Will see what happens and I’ll support him if he signs and hope he proves me very wrong!

Yeah he might not be as quick as he once was, but for the job we’d be asking him to do - probably sitting in front of the back four in a double pivot, we’d arguably be getting a better footballer than the one who left us 15 years ago.

Can someone not on the ever growing ignore list as him what meal deal he went for at Wembley

Can you let ne know ifvthetes an answer, as he can see my posts?

I know nothing about this meal deal question, so if its acwind up, please don't shoot the messenger. 👍

Exactly. What I said was nothing against Jordan, KLD or anyone else. My point which I will make as many times as it takes to sink in is that, and using a simplified version of my original point to speed things up, there are more important things which has more substance than paper talk. Some player from some European team appears as if by magic totally out of the blue. Where is the proof? Where is the certainty? There is never ever a mention about the source of the certainty they are using to claim we are interested in x or y.

Instead of talking about a player that is just for many in the media and press a complete wild guess, discuss how well we think Kyrill and Kristjan might be doing with their transfer strategy at Premier League level. Now we are Premier League their sights are going to have to be radically different. They are going to have to massively change their tactics on how to convince a better quality of player that Sunderland is a better option than Chelsea. You can’t sign the same kind of talent that would have got us in Premier League to keep you there. We are shopping at Harrods now, not M&S.
You think we are now competing with Chelsea in the transfer market?! 😂😂😂😂

Also, how many other premier league teams have signed players so far? I think we are ahead of most as we have signed Le Fée.

That's the thing. We are not asking him to score a shedload or create chance after chance and play box to box with his old energy which obviously isn't there the same. A holding defensive player who can try to dictate the play and keep a cool head when we are up against it (Which we obviously will be) whilst also talking and reassuring the young lads we already have. Rigg will come on heaps and bounds under playing with him and listening to a local lad who made it to the very top as a Champions league winner who captained England as well to major finals
Imagine, who would have thought such a role would be required by an inexperienced team? I'm still absolutely perplexed how some people can't see it?

I can only imagine they haven't registered that 6 inexperienced teams have been relegated without so much as a whimper over the past 2 seasons.

Or that class players who are model pros can reinvent themselves to give them longevity in the game. See Milner as a prime example.

Roy Keane started out as a box to box midfielder. He became a sitter as he got older. He probably didn't run as much because he let his footballing brain and the ball do the work.

You know what will happen. I would hate what has happened to others to happen to you.

I was just using Chelsea as an example of the kind of job they have on their hands. They have to convince players who probably have better clubs after them that we are the better option. They never had that in the Championship or League One. Their pool of talent was a lot easier and cheaper. In the Premier League however they must do what they have done but on a higher level and to a higher standard. This is why the Henderson deal is so vital. We aren't going to get many players with his class as cheaply. Others with his experience and class are going to cost, what, in excess of £6m.

Ross Barkley was one of Luton's best performers when they went down. It's only because he is a fan that we have this chance as he will have higher options. Would be daft not to take him on. He is so low risk as a character around the dressing room

There is nothing wrong with his comment. He is just offering a different opinion. He wasn't abusive, mocking or taking the piss. You need to stop looking for offence when there is none.

We are buying a leader and somebody who has won a champions league and Premier league as a captain, even captained England anybody who thinks he won't be a huge asset needs to think again. He'll be a great fit as captain, player and one day coach and possibly manager material in the future.

It would get the fans buzzing if Henderson is signed.

The publicity alone will be worth it. Might even sway a few players to also join the party 🙏

I've said it for years, running about and pace are overrated.
