Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Just not at all what we need. People only want the signing because of where he's from and because of what he achieved 5+ year ago. Really hope it doesn't happen.

'Experience' isnt a reason to sign him, there's quite literally hundreds if not thousands of players we could sign with experience. A lot of them would be closer to what we need in a midfielder than what Henderson would be as well.
Oh loads and your evidence that we will pay the fees and wages is .....................

He's passed it now. It's time to move on.
If he turned us down in the championship, but is interested now- I don't think he has realistic expectations regarding what his role might be in a competitive premier league side.

No Way,let’s learn & keep away from this type of signing+ he’s disgraced himself by taking Saudi money whilst portraying to support gay rights.

He's 35 Yrs old. He wouldn't be able to hack it in the Premier League now man. And what's the point of giving him what would be a shit load of money in wages just to give half time team talks? I'm sure there's better options available to us. Bringing players back rarely works.
Disagree. He's done a good job at Ajax this season and almost won the title. Yes the standard of the Eredivisie is probably lower half of the Premiership but just staying up next season would be a result. His experience would be brilliant to the players around him.
A fairy tale ending to his career anarl.

Good enough for England so...................Coooooooooommmmmmoooooon
He isn't though. He gets picked, but he shouldn't be anymore.

He's from Sunderland, and had a great career. That's why people want him here. If it was 35 year old Bulgarian international Yordan Hendov, who had previously captained Liverpool but has spent the last 2 years arsing about in Saudi Arabia while pretending it wasn't financially motivated, and then failing to win the Dutch league with the biggest club in the Netherlands, I don't think there'd be the same clamour for it. I could be wrong.

Anybody who thinks no is barmy. Even if not playing regularly he would still be great to have round the club.
Would you be happy the club paying him PL wages like £70-100k a week when we could divert that money to someone more effective?

The standard of the Eredivisie is worse than the top half of the Championship, if you remove the top 2 or 3. Its crap.

Feyenoord's regular LB this season, was a young lad on loan from Wolves.

The standard there is really low, there's no comparison at all to the PL.

I'd probably agree with you but the top five teams would probably do better than the three that got relegated this season from the Premiership.

100%.

People need to get serious. We have restricted money and every penny should be spent on getting pace and power into the team, not on old players wanting a last pay day.

They really wouldn't. AZ Alkmaar finished 4th, and their top scorer was Troy Parrot, who couldnt hit a barn door at Preston.

The club clearly wouldn't pay him that though. If he did come in, it would be in line with what we decide is the new sensible structure

Tbf, Delap couldn't hit a barn door in his last 2 championship spells. Including last season.

Hes now a £30m target for half the league
