Jonjo Shelvey BBC interview

Its funny when their fans hate a player but the player sticks his head in the ground after he leaves as it’s better for him to parrott the jordy nayshun shite for years to come for various reasons.

Shelvey, Guttierez, Warren Barton to name but three ive seen at it lately.

“There’s people in England being arrested for tweeting”

Jonjo, you’ve just moved to a country where people get arrested for having paracetamols in their carry-on bag.

And where there are strict laws forbidding criticism of the government let alone encouraging murder by arson during nationwide riots. But fair play to him for making that move in the name of free speech and for reducing the 0.8% chance of having his phone nicked in London.

As others have said, the amplification of these nonsensical musings (from someone who actually admits he doesn’t know what he’s talking about) by the media is pathetic. As soon as someone says they don’t know what they’re on about in an interview, the media outlet should say thanks for your time but we’ll end it there.

Interesting read and he has some decent points but still not a fan.

He has 2 daughters, according to Wikipedia - I certainly wouldn't want to raise my daughter as a second-class citizen in the UAE.
I’d wager they attend very well equipped private schools with highly paid, highly qualified, experienced English speaking teachers.
I doubt they will leave that school feeling any other but happy and confident going forward.
Too much stereotyping of these countries by people who read the daily mail and vote reform and have no clue as to quality of life led by expats and their families in places like Dubai and Abu Dhabi
‘ oh they’re Muslim so it will be Taliban ran’ and other stereotypical misconceptions

I believe the UAE have recently been moving away from Shariah law for foreigners living there
