Jonjo Shelvey BBC interview

Fair enough, that's his opinion and he's entitled to speak about it, but I think he's completely wrong and I'm not sure how it's ended up as the biggest sports story of the day on the BBC.

I despise people who hide behind bullshit like 'I don't really follow politics, but...' and then espouse a political view shared pretty much exclusively by one side of the political spectrum. You can't claim to not think critically, chat absolute garbage, and then expect people to not critique those views.

If you're going to parrot talking points from one side, at least be a f***ing adult and be open about what you're supporting.

Interviews like this make me question why the BBC has been allowed to balloon so much off the back of ever increasing license fees.

Would rather they cut it back to news and documentaries with a single domestic tv channel, a single international tv channel and only one or two radio channels.

Save people some money while delivering facts and not crap.

After careful consideration I have come to the conclusion that don’t care what Jern Jur thinks, says or does.

I didn’t like him at Liverpool and I liked him even less up the road.

The crux of it is this

“I'm not going to sit here and comment on things like that because I'm not clever enough to”

Just another knacker “doing his own research” on you tube and believing any old crap that gets pumped out to him via Musks and Zuckerbergs algorithms.
Bang on. 👆

Completely agree.

Actually, not entirely. The tv channels could use a trim and the website is out of control. Investigative journalism needs a boost, politics as chat shows can get in the bin and the news output needs a look too. But the radio offering is sublime - don’t cut that, it’s a lifeline for local news and grassroots sports, music, culture.

The ethos of going back to seriousness, facts and stop trying to ape clickbait competition is exactly right though. Time they grew up.

To quote @Sidewinder2 :
I certainly wouldn't be walking around London with a nice watch on or my phone in full view

There are approximately 10m people in London every day. 80,000 phones are stolen per annum

Much like Shelvey who said he isnt in to politics but proceeded to be political, Im no mathematician (and Im happy to be corrected) but by my calculations, that means there’s a 0.8% chance of having your having phone nicked whilst in London (if you’re there every day for a year)

Probably because people have complained about the Chief Football Reporter (Simon Stone) only writing about Manchester United ?
It makes a change from reading about Marcus Rashford...
Simon Stone was the Chief football writer and went on their pre season jolly to report daily of their friendlies. There is a Man Utd piece by him every other day.

One hour ago "Fernandes, Casemiro, Amad and Cunha absent from United training"

6 hours ago "Why Man Utd's next 4 games could shape their season."

18 hours ago "Man Utd block 6,500 'bot' ticket sales"

5 days ago "Will Zirkzee stay beyond January and could Baleba be targeted?

6 days ago "Is Amorim 'not embracing' Man Utd history and how long can he survive?"

the list goes on, not news, just feeding the Man Utd clicks.
So glad I am not paying the BBC to encourage this trash.

Another article by this Ciaran Kelly, BBC Footballs new national “Newcastle” reporter, still waiting to see who our Sunderland reporter is.
Ii see the comments section is now closed!
8 hours of mainly negative comments obviously enough.
