Joe Root calls for a reduction in county cricker

Other Internationals aren't on lucrative central contracts nor does their domestic seasons clash with IPL.
Buttler inherited a well -drilled successful side from Morgan so initially that success continued but they've been on free fall ever since.
While your first point is fair enough to a extent.

Your second is extremely harsh, his own and Hales performance in the brilliant 10 wicket win against India in the semis deserves massive credit.

It’s extremely unfair to suggest winning the T20 World Cup was hardly down to him where as performances after are!

My first point is 100% factually correct.
He inherited a well-drilled successful side -fact.
I've never disputed that he is capable of breathtakingly match winning innings. I t's his leadership skills I'm questioning.

Well I could equally say a high percentage of English players T20 players would like to play in IPL and not clash with international cricket so he no different than most.

As for his leadership skills all about opinions and respect yours but still think unfair in mine to suggest or say when his team his successful it mainly not down to him, but when it fails it mainly is.

People wanting to make money shocker

Are you like this on every topic?

“Yeah, he may had invaded Ukraine, but he comes from the old Soviet Union times so he’s probably just nostalgic. It’s probably not fair to call him a bellend, he’s just a bloke trying to make the life of his citizens better”

There are a good number of centrally contracted players have chosen not to play in the IPL- fact!
Results have steadily deteriorated during Buttler's captaincy -fact!

I am not aware of any exclusively white ball centrally contracted players as Buttler more or less is choosing not to play in the IPL never mind a good number.

There is no differentiation between red and white ball central contracts anymore
Yeah but my point was and is Buttler is no different from any other white ball top international player who mainly plays just white ball cricket be it this country or another in that they would like the IPL to not clash as most would imo.

They probably would but it's a rather selfish and greedy attitude nevertheless

Well possibly just trying to get across the point that most exclusive white ball cricketers would do the same so Buttler not any worse or better than most top exclusive worlds top white ball cricketers

Well looks like Jos Buttler has made a lot more fans in India. Social media is full of Indian fans kissing his arse and wondering how could anyone dare to schedule an international match during the IPL as its so amazing and more important than anything else. The arrogance is astonishing. Another reason to dislike Indian cricket.

Yeah, crazy to want to bring a squad together and prepare for a WC.

Of course, but they haven't said so publicly, on as lucrative earnings outside IPL nor are they leading a team containing non IPL players.
So you can see no wrong in Buttler whilst I recognise he's a crap captain. No problem.

Also kept the gloves too long in the red ball game for me was happy to keep foakes out

He should have said it was a shame to leave the IPL at this point in the season but his priority as captain is to prepare properly for the WC and work with the squad. That would have appeased pretty much everyone. He didnt though. He basically said we shouldnt be having any warm up matches because the IPL is on but he is here because they are. Thats just a crap thing for your captain to believe.

He said internationals (not just white ball stuff) should never clash with the IPL. Because it’s been in the calendar for a while.

The absolute arrogance of the man

I'm reading some of the comments by Indians on social media and the arrogance is really quite frightening....

The WC will have scores of 160 - 180 only - it will be boring

The IPL should be for 6 months of the year and 2 months window for international cricket only

The IPL is the most important league in the world. No international matches should interfere

No one cares about 5 day games except the old and unemployed
