Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

We’re so well ran as a club now that I’m confident we’ll either get this deal done or set a deadline for Bologna to accept our offer and then move on to option B who’ll arrive with a “here we go” out of the blue a bit like Roefs did after the Petrovic deal fell through.
Agree. Zeno Van Den Bosch at Anderlecht to come in if Lucumi doesn’t happen…

I'd agree. We deserved to win on Saturday, but the 3-0 score line was a bit harsh on West Ham. We will play a lot of games this season where our defence will come under huge pressure and bringing in another high quality CB to play alongside Alderete would mean that we would be better equipped to deal with it.
100%. Bowen looked very dangerous and skinned seelt a couple of times. Ballard played well as did Alde when he came in but we need a CB like lucumi as well. Ballard has also been injury prone which is no surprise given how he plays.

It was a great result at the weekend and hard not to get carried away. But people have to remember that we will come up against some teams this season who's front 5 or 6 players are all better than Jarrod Bowen. As good as Ballard was at the weekend and throughout the play offs, I would prefer to have a better centre back playing against teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Spurs and Newcastle etc.

This particular 'incoming ' has been going on for a while? Is it a yea or nay?

Another striker, (similarly) or is it a domino effect when the disgruntled skunk moves (or not) 😉

Bowen skins a lot of players... its why he's there!

For sure. However we also need to be realistic that we shouldn't expect to win those games (though the way we are recruiting we are certainly giving ourselves a chance of picking up a few results against the better teams). If we are competitive against the likes of WHU and other mid-lower teams we should be able to look back on a very successful season next May.

If Palace peddle Eze he’d be a canny fit there, or even at Spurs.
Their lass is an actor in East Enders so I believe he doesn’t wish to leave that London

I'm certainly not complaining about us spending money here, but does seem little odd we're now apparently offering more than his original release clause.

In the PL, as a newly promoted side especially, I would never go into any game expecting to win. As you say, it's about having the best team / squad to be able to compete in every game and the players have to have the belief that they can pick up points in any game. Many teams have proven throughout the past that securing results against the top teams can end up keeping you in the league. We did it under Poyet.
