Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

Seems like we're being held to ransom for a player who might be a bit of a luxury given recent arrivals. I do wonder at what point we tighten the purse strings and keep whatever wedge we've got for January and reassess any glaring holes in the squad.

Having said that, I didn't realise we were quilted.
We’re so well ran as a club now that I’m confident we’ll either get this deal done or set a deadline for Bologna to accept our offer and then move on to option B who’ll arrive with a “here we go” out of the blue a bit like Roefs did after the Petrovic deal fell through.

I agree. But if it's true that KLD wants him personally we will get him no matter the cost. 😁

To a large degree true enough but I very much doubt he’ll go beyond 30m for a player who had a release clause that only expired a week or so ago

Yeah we are in a position of strength, can look at other targets or probably fine with what we have. No reason to pay over the odds

We are I cannot understand why having seen the Paraguay gadgie why would want another left footed CB.We signed a LB which would enable Reinaldo to move to LCB.Then on the right we have signed a lad from PSG who is comfortable at RB or RCB.Also wounded lads like 09,Alese,Seelt to come back.Unless someone is going from the back cannot think who mind.

Seelt and Alese aren't getting anyway near that team and will be on their way, maybe loans although wouldn't be against a sale for either.

Maybe Mukiele isn't that comfortable in a 2 CB line, maybe he was brought in for RB. And I really don't get this obsession with CB's having a different stronger foot. 😂

Rarity being the key info there
So sad really. The lad always seems to have so much time. He reads the game very very well
Agree, but what about the first bit i posted. The lad must be class regarded as one of the best defenders in Italy but will expect to come straight in and not have to wait until injuries kick in .
Unless it’s a really really elite player ( eg prime Messi ) I doubt any player will be given such assurances

Its not about which foot they prefer. Some right footed cbs like playing on the left. Its about positioning and which side youre used to

I think Ballard, Alderete, Lucumi if he signs and O’Nien will be seen as our 4 CB’s. O’Nien very much back up while the other 3 will be more first choice with one missing out due to injuries, form or suspension

Mukiele, Reinaldo and Musuako are very much seen as full backs imo. I know Mukiele ans Reinaldo can play at CB at a pinch but we must see it as priority to have players playing in their best positions

I feel like Seelt will be sold and Alese hopefully out on a loan

Absolutely no way we are fine with what we have.

I'd agree. We deserved to win on Saturday, but the 3-0 score line was a bit harsh on West Ham. We will play a lot of games this season where our defence will come under huge pressure and bringing in another high quality CB to play alongside Alderete would mean that we would be better equipped to deal with it.
