Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

FTM it's them it's happening to and not us at the moment, so if you don't mind i'll keep on chortling away for as long as possible , especially after the last 8 years. It's all been brought on themselves with their gloating how their owners were going to buy them the lot. They've bought them one and CL twice but the self entitlement has gone through the roof. Tossers.
I completely get where you’re coming from!
Imagine if we finished above them!!

I thought those wages are loads more than we could afford tbh
Granted , I think xhaka is probably on that , but 3000000 net is going to be more than £100k a week (I think!)
I would think most of our players are on nowhere near that. Bar xhaka would be suprised if anyone is over 50kpw
Isn’t it 3m per year which ends up at 57k per week, isn’t that surprising for a premier centre half

Not sure whether it’s euros or pounds but the point is the same

For the record:

In the , each club must submit a squad list of up to 25 players, with at least eight of those being "homegrown". A homegrown player is defined as someone who has been registered with any club affiliated to the or the for at least three years before their 21st birthday. Players under the age of 21 on January 1st of the season in question are not included in the 25-man squad and can be used to supplement the squad size.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • 25-Man Squad Limit: Clubs can register a maximum of 25 players in their Premier League squad.

  • Homegrown Requirement: At least eight of those 25 players must be homegrown.

  • Homegrown Definition: A homegrown player is someone who has been registered with an FA-affiliated club for at least three years before their 21st birthday, .

  • Under-21 Players: Players under 21 years old (born on or after January 1, 2004, for the 2025/26 season) are not included in the 25-man squad and can play for the club in addition to the 25 players.
Cheers, I've stopped trying to work it out, can someone just tell me that everything will be alright 😁

I agree we’ve handled departures well so far but we’ve not had a situation where a player we really want to keep is forcing his way out.If the roles were reversed and Mayenda was agitating to go after scoring 20 goals this season, I doubt we’d take it with equanimity. I know that’s football etc and it’s funny to see them in disarray but we wouldn’t like it.
It’s interesting, but so far all our sales have been amicable (at least publicly). Stewart, Clarke, Watson & Bellingham

Not sure how it would pan out if the player did what Isak has. But it’s very rare. Eze isn’t doing it to go to Spurs

cheers for clarifying. So the release clause is still intact but we now have the option of paying in installments? They are still holding out for the full amount.
Release clause is irrelevant now as it's expired. They can now demand whatever fee they want - but there's no restrictions on how it's paid.

Might end up we pay a little more than the original release clause, but spread our payments over 4/5 years, which might be better solution for all parties.

or they could end up not selling him. Would be a risk if he doesn't sign a new contact and he ends up on a free.

Jeez give over
Put me right off my berry smoothie

I reckon sometimes the bickering and handbags from selling club is a smokescreen to placate the fans and let them think that (we want to keep this player etc) they have tried. Reality is that 20m plus is big big money for all but 3 or 4 clubs in Italian footy
Is that a euphemism?
