Aye it seems the go-to these days is agreeing personal terms relatively quickly before a bid is accepted or at least getting encouragement from his agent he would be interested.

Seems a bit pointless if after 3 weeks Ghisolfi has let out a massive sigh of relief and went "Finally, they've accepted our offer... Right Jhon, you interested?" - "Nahhh"
 
Whether this is true or not, we've desperately got to get a centre half through the door asap.

All of the rest of the good work will be completely undone if there's a gaping hole in the middle of our defence.

Does seem weird like. Has to have been some interest from the player side.

Or we’ve gone for even better and pied him and his agent trying to limit the damage.

Is Diakite more highly rated? Seems to have been mentioned a fair bit too.
