I don’t think any of us can moan about the effort made by the club recruiting like. Obviously some transfers were more straightforward than others, such as this one.
Guessing we’ve lost out on certain attacking targets too as we’ve gone in for the Chelsea lad on loan.
Early reports stated lucumi wanted champions league footy. I’m guessing he’s been waiting and either no clubs have came in or they have and our offer has been financially better so we’re finally trying to get a deal sorted with the club.
I’ll be shocked if we don’t sign this lad.

The problem will be Bologna, notoriously difficult to deal with apparently.

The CH position for me is one of the most important on the field, tough on the body too, personally I would like to see at least 2 if not 3 new players for this position.
Currently worried about the back line, I'd have addressed this area first.

A decent 1 in 3 striker too....got to have a outlet.
The rest will come from mids and ya big CHs.

You can only address what’s available at the time. Just because we’ve signed midfielders and a striker doesn’t mean we aren’t looking.

IMO we’re after experience at the back. That comes when clubs make new signings

Hope it pans out like that. A solid back line is the difference between successfully competing and staying up or failing miserably.

Tbh you could say that about Midfield or up front too.

I’m happy with how we’ve done our business and now we’ve added a proper leader with some steel in the middle we know the owners and DOFs/Le Bris know exactly what’s needed.

Never underestimate how important the back 5 are.
 
Bologna have us over a barrel tbf. We could have triggered his release clause and there was nothing they could have done. At this point they know we badly want him, are in a rush to get the side together and they will milk it .

Still think he ends up here but Bologna's board are no mugs.

We clearly aren’t in a rush hence the fact we didn’t trigger the release.

Would be nice to have him ASAP but the club aren’t panicking, clearly.
