I think we have players capable of making the step up and not needing replaced. That's just my opinion..

If people's opinion is that none of our starting line up from the play off final wouldn't make the step up then fair enough

i do aswell but outside of Hume, Ballard and Le Fee i'm not sure on any of the others as regulars. Cirkin pre injury yes but he was woeful back end of last season

we need a new keeper and the club know it given how many we're linked with and the bids for Petrovic and the lad who went to Saudi etc. hopefully that'll be sorted shortly

we've already replaced the first choice midfield and hopefully have Xhaka arriving aswell

i think Mayenda will be unreal in a few years time but both him and Isidor fluff to many chances. chances which are likely to be at a premium next season. another striker to compete with them would be nice but i think both will feature plenty anyway

You been watching the pre-season friendlies so far? Chances going begging. Balls being played in - no-one there.
I love Mayenda and Wilson but we’re desperately in need of someone with a track record of goals in a European top 5 league.
Besides, no PL team goes into a season with 1 recognised number 9. Call Wilson what you like but he’s not a 9.
God forbid, Mayenda gets injured. Then what? Ahmed with the grand total of zero first team starts under his belt?

I could be wrong but just because people and the club (seemingly) are choosing to upgrade the starting eleven, and as a result the squad depth, doesn’t mean they don’t think those players you mention can’t and won’t make the step up, but that surely adding in more quality would mean we have a better team overall, better depth, more competition for places making everyone better without relying on them to make the step up in a well supported manner?

It is sad that the gulf between the leagues is so large that a large percentage of the squad won’t, in the long term be deemed good enough, but what else can we do

To be fair, I knew more about most of those players than I do about the current crop (which wasn't a lot for most of them).

Currently I am just going off big prices and a friendly match.

They do look good though.
