Haven't seen a thread on him, but he's making waves recently.

If his current net worth trajectory continues (+34% a year), he's going to become the first trillionaire in history.

It's sickening like how somebody could have so much wealth. He will have more than all but 16 countries in world.

Why is it sickening if he made it big....really big?

But is he happy?

Don't get me wrong, I am happy for anyone who has worked hard and made it in life. Nobody should be deprived of their achievement.

However, surely you have to admit that heading for $1 trillion is just a stupid amount of money more than you will ever, ever need in any aspect. There's more money than you can ever possibly use.

Also, Amazon treat their employees like shit in terms of hours, wages and contracts. It's not a fair business.

It isn't going to continue at its current trajectory though is it? The rise in Amazon shares this year is entirely COVID 19 driven, as the locked down world turns to AWS and online shopping.

The current valuation is about 115 times profit. It is difficult to see where the growth is going to come from to justify the that valuation, let alone the nearly 9-fold increase necessary to make Jeff a trillionaire.

That said, last year they spent about the same on R&D as the UK government, so maybe they've got something up their sleeves.

Why is it sickening,he will quite happily share it with everybody

All you need to do is buy shares in the company. They were $50 each in 2000 they are around $2400 now.Twenty years to be an overnight success

Would you resent the pension funds having that growth?
If they have an employee share purchase plan would you deny employees the chance to retire wealthy because they thought it might be worth putting money into buying shares in Amazon.

If you think he will be a trillionaire then why are you not spending money to buy shares in the company. He does all the work and thinking, you share in the weath created, all you have to do is spend some money.

I should add you need to understand the gist of it,it isn't money

He has around 500 million shares in Amazon because he started the company before taking it public,it isn't money.

To get a rough idea of his wealth then 500 million X $2400.

To become a trillionaire then obviously
$1 trillion / 500 million, that is the price the share has to reach for him to be a trillionaire

To understand daily movements he had a beauty last Tuesday I think it was.The share price dropped by $50 ,so obviously he was down $25 billion for the day ( 500 mill X $50).

Wouldn't it be nice to have first world problems like that, shit I'm down to my last $120 billion.Minus any personal debt of course.
