If VAR had sent him to the monitor for the pen, im convinced he would have stood grinning at the screen like the arrogant prat that he is then decided to stick with his decision.

Unfortunately the PGMOL seem to love him so we are stuck with the smarmy **** until he retires or fucks off home early (🤞)

Did he think the Bournemouth player got the ball, which he did after the foul? Surely then it's the job of VAR to tell him to go and have another look, as he has made an " obvious error ".

Wasn't it him a few weeks ago that they made a big deal about overruling VAR after being sent to the monitor and he got plaudits for sticking with his decision.

I feel as though this may have impacted VAR sending him over and they didn't want the embarrassment of him overruling him. He likely would have stuck to his decision as he's that kind of bloke.

Was just reading that lad on VAR only started reffing in the football league in the 20/21 season.

We really need to make more of a fuss around decisions in the moment, we appear far, far too polite. In the Xhaka foul he actually gave them a foul until he saw the outburst from our players around him.

As you know I massively defend refs, as all the evidence from all the years prove real decisions hard.

However on this particular occasion I don’t as he had perfect view and should have got it right.

That said it was still much easier for VAR as they had it slowed down, could tell the severity of the push better etc etc.

It’s impossible to understand why VAR hasn’t give it
Yeah I try to defend them as well, largely because people on here get so irate and claim conspiracy and corruption which is tedious at best. You're right though its hard to defend him here, I just think VAR had the opportunity to make it right and didn't, which is ridiculous

Made an earlier point about the possibility of certain ref's intimidating the VAR, seems it may not be too far off the mark.

Inexcusable...he was stood 5 yards away with a clear view, it was a nonsensical decision not to give a penalty and then like you say, for VAR to back him up!

That decision and the recent free kick for the mags where the defender handled it well inside the box the other week, are the 2 worst refereeing/officiating mistakes I've seen for a long time...and on both occasions VAR didn't intervene.

Our VAR is not fit for purpose as either (a) they are as inept as the referee (b) they don't want to correct their mates, or even (c) they are possibly intimidated by the referee for whatever reason.

Pretty sure VAR wasn't being used in that mags game

He’s stood looking at the pen incident, clear view and right next to it. It’s the clearest penalty you could wish to see and that gets given at any level of football. The fact the VAR officials then look at it and don’t give it too is absolutely incredible. There’s a rabbit away. Don’t want to claim corruption like them up the road but anybody with eyes can see its a penalty ????
Even Shearer said it was on MotD

every game we’ve had with him, including the championship, he’s made the game all about him thru the decisions he’s made (or lack of). yesterday topped it off, but the standard of referring across the leagues is a shambles - bring back the old timers who took no shit and didn’t need a 5 min replay to make a decision

Was it not Attwell on VAR?

He was shocking, clearly a penalty on Enzo,
a goal can be ruled out when a players eye lash is in an offside position but he scores with his arm and it's allowed.
Adams should of been booked about 12 times before he got the yellow for that dangerous tackle on Xhaka which should of been red anyway.
Hope I never see the prick referee again.
Did it hit is arm? Not sure it was obvious and highly doubt people would be calling for it if it was us
