He’s stood looking at the pen incident, clear view and right next to it. It’s the clearest penalty you could wish to see and that gets given at any level of football. The fact the VAR officials then look at it and don’t give it too is absolutely incredible. There’s a rabbit away. Don’t want to claim corruption like them up the road but anybody with eyes can see its a penalty ????

Games getting decided a bunch of turbo nerds sitting in their ma's back room. Games well and truly gone.

Can maybe give the ref a pass as he has to make a decision there and then, but with var there, as a collective its a joke
As you know I massively defend refs, as all the evidence from all the years prove real decisions hard.

However on this particular occasion I don’t as he had perfect view and should have got it right.

That said it was still much easier for VAR as they had it slowed down, could tell the severity of the push better etc etc.

It’s impossible to understand why VAR hasn’t give it

If that isn't a penalty, then I absolutely f*cking give up. Wrong side of his man in the box, Enzo about to shoot, player comes up behind him and barges him in the back with absolutely zero attempt to play the ball - 'natural contact'. Absolute stonewall penalty.

Later in the game, shoulder-to-shoulder challenge - 'foul' 😄.

What do you do with that? Its so inconsistent and an utter farce.

There's a completely different set of rules around fouls for pens, it's nuts.

Anywhere else on the field and he blows immediately, potentially even a yellow, zero attempt to involve the ball at any stage. Yet any foot on foot or leg action and they will replay endlessly in slow motion to look for the slightest contact.

I can understand the ref missing it players dive an awful lot but Stevie Wonder on VAR would have told him he needs to take another look

This is the worst part for me.

It’s bad enough the ref doesn’t deem it a pen when he’s looking right at it, but to have VAR see it from different angles and speeds and STILL not think it’s a foul is mind blowing.

Inexcusable...he was stood 5 yards away with a clear view, it was a nonsensical decision not to give a penalty and then like you say, for VAR to back him up!

That decision and the recent free kick for the mags where the defender handled it well inside the box the other week, are the 2 worst refereeing/officiating mistakes I've seen for a long time...and on both occasions VAR didn't intervene.

Our VAR is not fit for purpose as either (a) they are as inept as the referee (b) they don't want to correct their mates, or even (c) they are possibly intimidated by the referee for whatever reason.

Knaing our luck hedve given the pen then var would’ve asked him to overturn it 😂

Can only conclude they have never played the game and have talked themselves into not knowing right from wrong, infringement and no infringement. They just don’t know.
AI will be producing the answers soon
As clear a foul challenge in the penalty area, as you are likely to see all season, yet no penalty award, and what makes it worse, was a similar push on Xhaka, a few minutes later, around 25 yards from goal, was deemed to be a foul, and a free kick awarded to us. 🤷‍♂️

I could possibly & grudgingly, give the officials some leeway, if they only had the option of seeing the offence in real time and without the benefit of having replays from different angles and slo mo, available to them, so given that they have all that technology at their disposal, yet STILL deemed the offence, not to be worthy of a penalty, is totally inexcusable, and imho, they ought to be hauled over the coals, disciplined & demoted, for their display of gross incompetence.
