Haven't seen any replays from the stands it looked like Roefs made a right mess of it and was lucky not to be sent off. But with this ref , all normal rules of play go out the window

There was a Traore one in the second half which looked like the most fairest 50/50 in the history of shoulder charges that was deemed a foul. And we also got quite a few that I thought were soft

Roefs was fouled. He took a chance but their player just wiped him out from behind. I was watching on TV and a bit nervy but the replay was 100% clear it was a foul by their CF. Traore had two go against him and neither were fouls, especially the one which would've been our throw.

Honestly I'm usually very sympathetic towards refs and think people often blame them unfairly but literally every small 50/50 he got wrong today alongside the big decisions like Le Fee pen and the tackle on Xhaka. For balance I didn't think there was anything wrong with their goal.

That is the most blatant penalty I've seen this season and everybody I've talked to about it agrees, even some mags and a Boro fan. I don't know what the ref was looking at to not give it. We won't see many more stone wall penalties than that. Pure incompetence by the ref and the muppets on VAR.

Can maybe give the ref a pass as he has to make a decision there and then, but with var there, as a collective its a joke

Nonsense. Every person watching the game saw in real time it was a penalty. We didn’t need replays or other angles.

He’s paid over a hundred grand a year to make decisions. If he can’t get one as simple as that right, he should be removed from his position.

Aye. The best ref in the world is easily the French or Belgian lad who looks like Trossard of Arsenals older brother. UEFA, FIFA, the players and the coaches all know he’s the top lad……..yet I’ve no idea what his name is. He’s the new whatever the baldy Italian feller was called.
 
One of the criticisms chucked at refs is they've never played the game. I think that's bollocks because most of us played, even to a minimal standard. With Gillet it's obvious he's not been brought up watching a high level of football live. That's far more important if you want to be a ref.

That's why var is there though. People make mistakes in real time and var is there to correct them. To not do that with the benefit of replays is far worse than the ref making a mistake in real time
 
The bloke should get old tin tac let’s put it this way if you don’t do your job correctly at work consistently then you will get the tin tac .So why are the likes of this fool not held accountable.FFS he was 7yrds away at most clearly looking at the shove on Enzo .Forget VAR he is ultimately the man in charge .

Aye it worse, but it doesn’t excuse the initial decision.

It’s the most blatant pen you’ll ever see and if a referee can’t give it, they’ve got no place officiating in the Premier League.
