Jan Paul van Hecke (rumour)

I’d be surprised if our targets overlap with theirs.

The profile of his targets will clearly be different to ours.

Young up coming player who has experience playing for Blackburn and doing well (player of the season possibly), I think he'll be on a lot of Championship club's radars regardless of club profiles.

He sounds a confident lad, be a great signing for us and add some serious competition at Centre Half
From what I remember, they talked about him being able to bring the ball out from the back well. Never seen him play, but if he’s as well regarded as Ballard was, I’d be over the moon.

I meant the type of player Neil will go for. More experienced players

He'll probably have plenty of options come the summer. There'll be the sides going up to the Prem, those coming down. I'm sure Neil will be looking to replace Phil Jagileka at Stoke....he must be eligible for a bus pass this year!

I'm sure we'll hold a bit of an interest in him, but will he get ahead of Ballard and Batth? We've also got Alese, Onien, Cirkin and Anderson who can play there. I'm not sure we'll be as interested as other clubs may be in the summer.

If this was 18 months ago, I’d agree. Today, the club are looking medium to long term. The same was Lihadji was apparently signed to replace Diallo, 8 months before he’d be needed, we might be looking at Batth’s age. Who’s to say he won’t come in & replace Batth. Right now we don’t need a centre half, but we’re signing players for years to come.

Aye, but this lad wants to play first team football now, he's not a kid like Anderson who came from Everton as U21 captain. I'm sure this lad has had enough of being sat on the bench so is he good enough to drop either Ballard or Batth?

I don't think think CB is looked at as a priority with how well Onien has fitted in and as I've just said, bringing in Anderson in January.

If folk are wanting strikers, experienced CM's or No.10's, then I doubt we'll be going in hard for a position we're well covered in.
