James Trafford as replacement for Roefs?

But the biggest profit to be made is selling young english players to top PL teams because of home grown quotas...

Not saying it's trafford but we will have to buy English players eventually like.

Pretty harsh when he's made it properly known he's not staying at City because he wants to play football like. Very opposite of that cretin.
not particularly him : just generally someone who's disapointed at top tier coming to us to pick up their career is complex , particularly because he'll already be on big money

We do need to keep our quota of "homegrown" players though - probably not Premier League signings but we need some players in the squad not from abroad. Roefs has been a key to our success this season, so if we did lose him that would be a massive loss.

(If Liverpool or Chelsea scouts are watching this, he is a sicknote, always injured, flaps at crosses and is useless with his feet)
We may pick up the odd player from the lower leagues or perhaps a kid with very limited first team exposure from the Premier League. James Trafford is a complete non starter. He's England's number 3!

Obviously wants to leave City for first team football, been linked away for £27m this week. Would he be a decent option to spend a chunk of the Roefs money on

Would be home gown, only 23 year old, and obviously PL experience. There’s a reason City and the Mags wanted him last summer.

Presume we’d have to fight with a few PL clubs, including the mags?, but not sure any of the big champions league sides will be after him so could come down to wages and where he sees the club going.

Could have Elborg as back up with the opportunity to really grow and learn for a season or two.
Is it needed?

Ellborg looks decent, behind him we have young at Salford and there’s another lad in the academy too.
If we keep spending on new keepers we’re just going to block their route to the first team.
I feel like if we were given a fortune for RR then we would be better off spending it elsewhere in the squad

He’s absolutely 💩

Said as much in couple of posts earlier in the week , if we lose Roefes pick him up and pocket £20m to use on a RW.
Hes a shit house but he'd be our shit house and it would piss the Mags off no end .
I could see him liking our buzz.

I think it’s basically a given we sign Pickford if Roefs goes
Is it? He's 32 and has 3 years left on his contract. We'd have to spend a large amount of money to make it even worth considering for Everton. Are we going to do that for a 32 year old, especially if he isn't pushing for it?

We did it with Xhaka, but Xhaka wanted to go and Leverkusen ended up accepting. But I think Pickford (given the longevity of the position he plays) would cost significantly more.

We’ve backed Ellborg to be the successor. He’s 22 and he’ll improve, stop writing every player off after a bad game or an iffy start in the best league in the world.
Not sure if it is as definitive as you infer
He is seen as having potential maybe
