James hunter apparently reckons the fans have unrealistic expectations

We are made to be average by the manager in charge. Nesrly every team would swap squads with us.

Its organisation and tactics that is the issue.

It's not necessarily the Manager - it's the Owners. Ross and Co. got the job because they were/are cheap.

Saying that might sound arrogant:lol:
I don’t think it does. Someone can pick me up on the stats but we must be the least successful English club in the last say 10 years, but still get massive gates and a largely positive crowd. No mass protests, no shouting at shops - just a huge crowd Hoping beyond hope that the piss taking has stopped. And it hasn’t. It’s changed now so people are made to feel bad about expectations that are entirely reasonable.

Spoken like someone who hasnt had to pay a single penny to watch the dogshit we have been served up for the last 5 years.

I think some fans have a blind arrogance regarding our stature and the players we have within the league we are in. I don't think it is expectations I think it is pure arrogances.

Thing is it’s the manager who carry’s the can for what has been a recruitment issue

Mags get national sympathy for spending £80m on 3 players this year and beating man utd at home.

We are unrealistic expecting bigger than 6th in league one.
Maybe that's because they are just objectively a better team than we are? The league table doesn't lie!

Apparently poor reactions to dropped points from fans are dragging the club back. Does this fucker not understand that performances over a longer period play a part in reactions?

Hes talking as if it's something which has just happened this season with no previous, as if the slate was completely wiped clean at the start of this season.

Using a poor reaction this week after a win against a poor MK Don's and a Sheff United side who couldn't give a fuck in the cup as justification as to why this is an overreaction after Lincoln, completely ignoring how we've got to this stage.

We have quite a bit of power now tbh, probably lacking in pace I’d agree but we have signed loads of players it’s hard to have much sympathy and by now he really should have adapted a style of play to get the most out of the players we have.
Aye bolstered centre half admittedly, but still weak elsewhere. As for signing loads of players, that’s pretty much my point, think our recruitment has been gash on the whole.

Sick of being shit on by a bunch of gimps telling me what my expectations should be.

We are in league 1 and getting outplayed by a bunch of piss poor sides. The football is abysmal and we are paying to watch it. If you can’t enjoy football in league 1 then fuck me sideways, might as well wrap it in. Bolton put their team together in literally a day of the transfer window and looked to have more quality than us. Embarrassing.

Sick of being told where we have came from 17 month ago too, they literally blew promotion with 8 games to go last season and also blew it in the play off final even though the other team kicked the ball in their own net.

Embarrassing someone is talking about expectations in league 1. Donald even said we were in a really good position to give it a really good go & we had to go up this year. His actions in the summer and by not sacking JR just say to me that’s a bunch of waffle. I’m supposed to lie here and take it because we are Sunderland and should be grateful to be afloat in league 1. This lad must be so up Ross’ hoop he can taste what he had for breakfast.

The thing is at the start of the pod cast hes said the squad is capable of mounting a promotion challenge, then hes said its capable of winning the league but not that its capable of walking the league.

But then hes gone onto say a reaction by fans to dropped points is dragging the club back and making it a harder club to manage. What does he expect a f***ing celebration when Peterborough fuck us allover or breaking the champagne out when we're an absolute shambles against Bolton, then Lincoln?

We have unrealistic expectations? I've heard it all. It's about time these so called Sunderland supporting jornos grew a backbone. Utterly embarrassing thing to say, weak, meek and no ambition.

Right on marra!!

Well, it's partly the manager but we've got some right bang average players atm. On paper they might be two leagues ahead but in terms of attitude some are two league below!
