Yip - good argument bud - you are back on a bit of form maybe Jimmy will follow suit ;-)

The argument with Beefy was and always is that he was such a brilliant, instinctive cricketer there was never a need to really think about the game to the extent that say an Hussain, Atherton or even a Boycott did. Its not that Beefy talks shite, just that there are expert summarisers that give a better insight into the game.

bet your only saying that coz its xmas

time for Jimmy to win us a test at MCG, not contribute a few wickets, but actually grab the bull by the horns and lead the attack

Won the toss, he leads the attack on the first day. Let's see....

Fielders have not exactly helped him, should have had 2 already.

Got 2 wickets for the team here like, maybes not on paper but the way he has bowled he deserves the credit for both of em....fuck you essex boy fuck you

Jimmy exploited the conditions beautifully.

I thought Tremlett was the pick of the bowlers.

Its a sad refelection on the Aussie attack particularly that they produced a green top to force a result but lost the all important toss. Jimmy himself also said they were ideal conditions to bowl in and in the afternoon when the sun come out batting became easier

His words not mine

8-)

But yes, Tremlett was once again the pick of the bowlers and while the conditions did suit Jimmy he still bowled extremely well and it showed; the Aussies just couldn't handle the 3rd best bowler in the world.

He is 5th in the world

Green top, pissed down, Jimmy takes wickets, its what he does, not sure why there is a wank fest on here today

Great stuff Jimmy A. Could've easily had one or two in his first spell then ripped through them when he came back. Also got the most important wicket of Hussey on the way.

Made the most of the favourable conditions. All three seamers bowled very well. Think he could be moving back up from 5 in the world :-)

thankyou squire.

when he has run through one of the better sides in world cricket in blue skies on a straw coloured strip, Il be the first to congratulate him

FFS half the Aussie batting line up are injured

You ran away after he did it in Adelaide? India on their own turf? - Conditions were great for Jimmy today it has to be said it wasnt swinging around corners but it was doing enough. He bowled very well took 4 and had 2 dropped off him in his early spell. He has bowled well this tour and although he is the top wickets taker with 16 wickets at 26ish I still think he has bowled better than those statistics suggest.

Bresnan was consistent. Should force his way into the Daily Mail dream team I reckon.

Tremlett has 12 in half the games...

Hows your leading wicket taker Swann getting on in this series? Despite telling the world how spinners struggle in Australia....

Don't thank me, thank Jimmy for getting the wickets. Surely that's what we all wanted, no? England to do well?

I don't think anyone disputes that Jimmy is one of, if not the best in the world (over the past couple of years) when the ball is swinging. You seem to think that warrants crciticism rather than praise. Very bizarre.

so despite telling everyone Anderson would be smacked around the park and couldn't lead the England attack, he goes at 26.88 runs a wicket and has been the most consistent bowler and you still can't admit you're wrong.

well done Jimmy even despite being the unluckiest bowler of the series he has been superb

Fair play to Tremlett hes been great in both games. Miles better than Broad was before him thats for sure.

Swann is doing fine - as you yourself have mentioned the wickets have had nothing in them for Swann but in the one opportunity he has had with a bit of assistance he won a test match for England. Was 3rd top wicket taker coming into this match and has his best opportuities to come. Wheres the problem?
