Jadon Sancho

Reported to have attitude problems at Man Utd so I’d be steering well clear. We have a good group of players who seem grounded, I don’t think he fits our profile.

As an aside I saw the other day that the 3 lads who missed the pens for England in the Euro final, him, Rashford and Saka all won big trophies this season. Happy for them after all the abuse they got

He's not a number ten
Played his best footy for Dortmund in his first spell playing centrally. Part of his problem is that he’s actually best suited as a 10 but got misprofiled and shoehorned in as a winger. He’s not pacy and thrives in tight spaces when he can make combinations. Doesn’t really suit being shoved out wide but the truth is that with the wage he’ll ask for he won’t get a shot centrally any time soon.

If it’s true that he’s still on £200K a week then he’s already a multi millionaire who never needs to work (or play football) for the rest of his life. You have to think that it’s going to be very hard for him to accept that he’s got to put all that aside and have the desire to prove himself all over again, maybe at a smaller club and with a salary that might be about one tenth of that.

If he could do that he could be a brilliant signing for someone, but I can’t see us taking that risk.

300k per week, which is mental.

"With Ten Hag still in charge at Old Trafford last summer, there was little prospect of Sancho sticking around and he joined Chelsea on loan on 31 August.

As part of the deal, the Blues agreed to an obligation to buy Sancho for a fee of around £25m - if they were to finish higher than 14th in the Premier League - or pay a £5m clause to get out of the deal.

Chelsea did not pay a loan fee for the player and covered just half of his reported £300,000-a-week wages.

Sancho finished the season well and scored in the final as Chelsea beat Real Betis to win the Uefa Conference League.

However, it was a mixed campaign overall and he ended it with five goals and 10 assists in 42 games.

As such, the Stamford Bridge side have chosen to £5m to avoid signing him - his wages rather than the £25m fee believed to be the primary reason - and Sancho is on his way back to United again."

Gave us two goals after he came on at Villa Park. Utter chod. I've seen plenty of him as my wife supports Villa. Trust me he is the dictionary definition of useless.

Looks like he is going to be released by Man Utd. Worth the proverbial punt?

Mainly a left winger but has played on the right. Only 26 and played a hell of a lot more for Villa this season then Harvey Elliott did
Clearly has ( had ) talent but would stink the place out

I hope we don’t move away from signing characters who want to be at SAFC and buy in to everything we are about, as the current group are. That should be the first criteria to pass before signing anyone, despite ability.

So it’s a no from me, based on what I have observed about him from afar.

Although he’s been very average for us , he has helped us this season by being able to fill in and be a squad player. I even think Emery likes him . The problem clubs are going to have with him is this , he’s going to be taking a big pay cut wherever he goes and I’m not sure his personality or attitude will take kindly to that. If we could have him on a free or for very little money and he could accept being on 100k a week maximum then I’d probably be happy for him to stay at Villa, but it’s very unlikely that scenario happens . I’d steer clear.
