Jack Clarke

Chemsdine Talbi has scored 5 goals in 1400 minutes in the Premier League. None of which were penalties. I'm not sure we can say how many goals he'd score given an almost 50 game season in the Championship against far sh1tter opposition.
You can say Clarke scored none though, in a full season.

Our current wide player options wouldn’t return anything like the goal contributions Clarke has if they are to play a season in the championship. If Clarke is better at that level than them then it’s interesting to see people think our wingers are better than Clarke at premier league level.
This chap still pretending he's one of the lads. Give it up marra you're fooling nobody.

Pleased for him, he's had a great season.
Tbf hes had a funny season.....didnt really start that well for him ( nor Ipswich tbf ) but you have to say that his form, and more crucially goals, in thesecond half of the season was a huge factor in Ipswich hauling back 'boro and clinching that second automatic place

I wouldn't want him back. He was happy enough to jump ship, encouraged by his cu*t of an agent, a tw@t who's made snide digs at our club more than once.
That's some take mind. Was a pretty natural time for him to leave that worked out well for all parties in the end.

What digs has he made? Genuinely curious as I'd expect him to have enjoyed his time with us.

It’s clear the championship is his level, I don’t get people wanting him back. No doubt some of the same people that slate talbi who’s played at a higher level than Clarke at a younger age and has more premier league goals etc. loved Clarke not been as gutted at selling a player since bent but that was when we were a championship side. I’m not sure the lad has it to be a regular in the premier league.

I'd suggest its clear he is a level above it, he proved it here over two seasons, you know he would settle here and he's English. Would have been a really sensible signing last summer imo.

I'm sure he was referring to his agent taking digs.

They had a slow start, but he's been pretty consistent for them. Four goals and an assist in the first 10 games.

His agent called Sunderland fans fickle early last year. That’s just one which comes to mind.

When Ipswich were in the PL last season, Jack Clarke made 32 appearances and scored 0. In all comps 3 in 36.

There’s better players out there for us

Really, I’d say so far in his career his shown he’s a top level championship player and nowt more yet. Still has time but I’d be hoping we’d be aiming higher than him in the summer.

The insults were referring to Harte, not Clarke. 👍

Harte agitated to get a move for Clarke and Harte's comments about Sunderland fans being fickle and his " Howay the Toon " comments when the visitors beat us 3-0 are well enough known.

If we can get better, great, but I don't think any permanent player hit the same highs as he did in that league consistently, he may not have had the best potential/ability (that was Jobe), but he showed week in and out that he was better than that league. A 20m Talbi is great, but it's also a gamble and a tomorrow signing, a 15m Clarke signing (assuming he would have been available for that last season) would have provided a consistent level needed for where we are. Angulo may have a bigger upside, im not sure, but again, it'll take time and patience. Throw in our tight situation with English-trained players, he would have been a no-brainer for me.

Wonder where Clarke's career would be if he hadn't left and instead spent another year in the championship with us and had his premier league crack this season playing in his correct position. I think he'd have done fairly well

Some of the abuse on here when his pre contract signing broke was abhorrent, as was the slagging off of his family and his housemetown.
