Jack Clarke

Clarke is more of an inverted winger. Natural wingers play on their natural side and generally look to go on the outside, and an inside forward is essentially a striker who starts in one of the channels/half spaces areas.

An inverted winger starts wide but generally plays on the 'wrong' side, hence their desire to cut inside. That's Clarke.

I think inverted wingers and inside forwards are very similar. Id suggest he was a forward as he was more likely to shoot where as Roberts for example is just as likely to put in a cross. As was Johnston.

Either way, my point is, to my mind, for you to be classified as an inside forward, you have to be positioned wide at some point in order to be considered one. Someone who is routinely central can not be.

I personally think it has been the opposite and they’ve been asked to get chalk on their boots a bit but are used to coming inside. Talbi is used to playing on the left and cutting onto his right and Adingra the same. I think they’ve both been asked to go at their man on the outside.
They've done both at times. The first half of the home game against Betis in particular, when we had Reinildo at centre half, in possession we had Harrison Jones pushed up playing as a winger and Adingra almost as a striker, playing further forward and inside looking to run off the defender. Out of possession Jones would drop back to left back, Adingra back to the wing. Maybe just something they tried in that game.

In most games though Adingra has looked to either come back inside on his right or get around the full back and get a cross in on his left. He seems to mix it up a bit more than we're used to seeing.

^Strange poster this lad.^

Absolutely hates Jack.

Left us in the shit near deadline day, and refused to drop his agent despite him knowing the fans feelings towards him. He couldn’t care one bit about this football club and we shouldn’t care about him. I’m sure he’s made a lot of money, but I’m pleased that his career has taken a tumble and we‘ve passed him on the way up.

He never wanted to leave in the first place. For the first time in his career he was settled and playing good football. Ultimately though, money came into it and he went to Ipswich.

I can honestly see him ending up on loan somewhere to reboot his career (again).
He needs to give his agent the boot. He must have watched the playoffs crying as he counted his money. What could have been!

Just watched the play off final again the other day, and its lovely seeing all the lads stopping on the way up the stand for the trophy to hug and have a quick word with him. Shows what good group we fostered of the couple of seasons
Couldn't be a starker contrast to the rotten attitude that had been allowed to prevail throughout the club from the top down the last time we were in the top-flight.

Mad thing is in the long run he would have made more money staying with us lot of our lads were on a good promotion bonus onien was 500k they all had canny sized wages increase also he will have had one good year of money at Ipswich and now will have took a hit relegation decrease

Paid for last year's buys which ultimately got us promoted. Cheers and good luck in the future, at this stage anyone wanting him coming back it's like wanting mcgeady back sorry were at another level now.

 ^Radge packet. ^

The club were happy to take the money. We weren't left in the shit.

f***ing Hell.

99% of fans couldn’t name his agent and of the 1% that can, 99% of those think (incorrectly) that he shares an agent with Tommy Watson.

That is why he would look back fondly on his time here…and NOT anywhere else.
That was exactly the point that I was making.
Try reading my post properly.

He was fantastic for us and I loved him for that, but he has done nowt at any other club.
And the point I am making is that he is 24 and probably has 8-10 years of his career left. He only developed into a top player while playing for us and has been misused thus far by Ipswich. His career ain’t exactly over though, is it?

Part of the problem, and I’m guilty of it too, is that before speakman and KlD our recruitment was so poor we barely sold a player for profit in like 10 years

I think there is so much talk about players who leave as we are not used to it

Guarantee Brighton fans don’t give them too much thought

I think hopefully if we keep improving we will maybe stop over analyzing players going, it’s part of recruitment and generating revenue and will happen a lot

Inside forwards had a winger outside of them. The fullback plays that role now.

I think the game has changed quite a lot since the says of having.a five man forward line though.
