Jack Clarke

Can't be arsed to go back 100 pages, but whyTF are people gannin on about the cup game against the filth up the road when there is only one word that needs saying on that - BEALE. (Sorry for using caps, I understand it could be traumatic, but some on here need it shouting at them as they are blaming our players for that capitulation.)

Purely devil’s advocate here. Clarke was 5 goals from 11 games under Beale in the Championship. There’s 100% an argument that he’s looked lost against better opposition. Managers, systems probably all played a part but still, end of the day it is also on him to step up at some point.

I would definitely ask the question of how seemlessly he’d slot back on to the left wing having not played there all year. More pressingly, I can’t see any party wanting to go back to each other and it would be bizarre if we agreed to pay all his wages having failed to agree said wages with him in the first place.
We banked 15 million from him, can’t see us covering his wages for 6 month being too much of a issue, likely pay a loan fee which would go towards them so the other players don’t spit the dummy’s out.

Are people seriously twisting that having our 20 goal winger back would be a bad idea?
I wouldn't say I'm twisting but I don't think it's a particularly good idea to have Clarke back. He wouldn't be the star for s start. We have Isidor, Le Fee and Bellingham.

It would send a negative message to the present squad.

Finally, Clarke would feel like a failure and his confidence would be shot.

We have 2 loans we can get in this window.

Can't see the point in JC, when he wanted away in the first place, has hardly played since he left us, and even when we go up we won't want a buy back for the Prem.

He got his move, he has to live with it.

We are now a club where players come to progress, not buy players who have had a chance (2 in JC's case) and not made it.

Would rather concentrate time, effort and investment in Tommy and Mundle personally.

Loved JC, but he made the wrong choice again.

He has to find another pathway back imo..

When we played the mags in the cup he looked poor against trippier
He was up against two and sometimes three defenders that day so he never had a chance to get into the game. Roberts was missing so they knew if they stopped Clarke they stopped us.

In the Prem, all wingers are faced with that every game marra.
They just sussed him and stopped him playing.

I loved him to bits. Loved his heart, loved that he left Spurs to prove himself. Loved his work ethic. Loved his determination.

But he jumped ship too soon.

What is this based on? The fact that we may be losing Watson, Clarke can only play for us or Ipswich, we freed up a loan slot, and someone online retweeted Clarke's welcome to Sunderland and said "Imagine"?

I'd love to see Clarke back here, even if just on a short-term loan, even with obligation to buy upon promotion. That said, I have a hard time seeing it happen.
