Jack Clarke

Do your fans actually realise that he hasn’t been played in his natural position all season? In general I don’t think they do. That they spent 15 million on the best natural winger in the championship and play him inside. You get your width from Davis and as long as that’s the case Clarke was an absolute waste of money. Terrible management imo.
I haven’t paid enough attention to Ipswich to understand their set up, but a huge part of Jack Clarke’s success here was we played around him & to his strengths. Doesn’t seem sensible to spend a lot of money on a player to ask him to do a different job.

You can certainly ask the question last year about how many of the top teams he played well against.

His game against the mags he should have paid admission. And trippier was in the middle of that horrendous run of form at the time. Clarke just bounced off him like a boy would against a man.

I remember seeing Trippier was playing and thinking great for us that. He was woeful. So slow.

I'd seriously be questioning if I was an Ipswich fan.
5 changes today, looks like he doesn't know his best team or players.
Nearly Xmas and he's chopping and changing weekly.
Forget about Clarke, McKenna isn't the one the press thought he was.

Now Clarke. Crazy if he's bought two players who were the best players at their respective clubs for the same position. Should have been one or the other as one will rot away or both will struggle.
It's a criminal waste of talent.
I never thought Clarke was a top prem player but this situation is crazy.
I wouldn't have him back though.

Said it more than once but Ipswich needed to strenghen at the back and didnt, they were poor defensively last season but could outscore most teams in the Championship then preceded to buy arguably 3 of the best Champ players in the summer in Scmodics, Clarke and Delap without signing any decent defenders, they are entertaining to watch but a basket case at the back and thats what will relegate them.
To be fair other than a poor GK we’re fairly tight at the back. Not having a fit second choice striker has killed us in recent weeks, Leicester, Villa, Man united at home I’d back us to have picked up a couple of wins if he didn’t have a league two striker coming off the bench. Muric is a poor keeper. But who else can you attract as a newly promoted club who’s expected to struggle?

Completely agree with you there.

Didn't realise he'd played, LiveScore reckon he didn't come off the bench.

I've only seen bits of their games but he isn't used in the same way as here, he seems to tuck in to let the LB have the space ahead.

I thought he did - just saw Clarke had come on.

It was his brother from another mother though.

It’s exactly what they have done. Complete waste of money on their behalf

You can't seriously be judging him on that 1 game, when we were in awful form under Beale?

He also played really well in the FA Cup against Fulham the year before. Doesn't prove much.

Never thought he looked like he'd make the step up, even when playing very well for us. Premier League is a completely different challenge and it was clear that what worked from him in the Championship could be easily stopped in the Prem.
