By similar logic, all of our subs should go on loan

It may end up being a classic move where the buying club, selling club and the player himself all end up coming out of it bad in the long run, Darren Bent transfer also in that category - we didn’t recover, the big money Villa spent started their decline, and his career never kicked on.He’s hardly had a lot of game time has he, and I doubt very much that Ipswich will have a long term existence in the league either, best of luck to the lad, but he’s hardly furthered his career has he.
Clarke asked to leave he could have stayed for one more season but he didn’tIan Harte really has fucked this lads development by pushing for moves away, he hardly playing these days, I can see him going out on loan inn January more than likely.
Really tough ...and the spectre of his time at spurs might start to haunt himUp to him to force his way into the side and stay there, it was never going to be easy.
Not really if that’s your thingAre people seriously suggesting he should have turned down a move to the premier league and probably tripling his wage?
I agree. Like I say though with no kind of code of conduct and nobody to answer to, he can pretty much do and say what he wants.I just found his comments on social media very unseemly and disrespectful. I think his daughter is dating Tom Watson so no doubt he will be agitating for him to go elsewhere soon.
Was it only about the money or was it also about proving to everyone you're premier league player... his time at spurs fucked him upChampionship player gets move to PL significantly boosting his bank balance in the process. Nothing to see here.
To be fair he didn’t exactly hit the ground running with us either in league 1He’s hardly had a lot of game time has he, and I doubt very much that Ipswich will have a long term existence in the league either, best of luck to the lad, but he’s hardly furthered his career has he.

This. Why are people acting as if Harte solely controls his career. Obviously Clarke wanted a prem move which is what he’s got. Good luck to him
I just don’t think he’s a premier league player more top end championship playerI think his time at Ipswich may haunt him more than his old Spurs experience. Ipswich fans really don't like him so far. Not being good enough for a shit Premier League team won't be getting him any more moves up there when Ipswich are relegated
Thought it was a bad move for him at the time, he'd have been better off staying with us. But money talks
There’s some re-writing of history going on here like. He was by far our best player for 2 seasons, excluding a top class loanWe look better without him.
This.
Agreed.
I just don’t think he’s a premier league player more top end championship player
They both go hand in hand. Getting a move to the PL is about money. People live in cloud cuckoo land sometimes. If Barrow were in the PL and we were still in the Championship they would be able to take our players. Worst case scenario for the player is he fails and ends up back in the Championship. I don’t think he’ll ever be any more than a bottom half PL player for what it’s worth. I said at the time it was a bad move for his career in football terms but that’s pretty irrelevant really. Was it only about the money or was it also about proving to everyone you're premier league player... his time at spurs fucked him up
We look better without him.
This.
I think they signed players for their promotion push next seasonI've not watched them this season but from what I understand I don't think Ipswich play with wingers. That more than anything (if true) will be screwing him over, he was never as good for us when he came inside, he's much better when hugging the byline.
