Jack Clarke

Well neither of them are fit for a start.

And before Mundle's injury, he'd made 3 goal contributions in 10 games. Two of those were assists in his last game.

And Tommy Watson wasn't really all that either.

Clarke's miles ahead in terms of development, quality, and contribution.

This is the naivety I'm talking about. Every bugger does it these days. And you can almost guarantee we'd be at it if we went up as well.

It's as if teams have forgotten how to do owt else.

It drives me dad nuts at the match when we do it and we're under pressure. Trouble is, if we go route 1, the ball just comes back anyway as we haven't the the players up top to hold the ball. Ross Stewart was brilliant for giving us that outlet. We've not had it since, and Isidor is not that player.

If much rather lose it on our half way line than outside our box. You don't need a plank to play that way

Well I think you should certainly at least mix it up - especially if you're under the cosh.

Too many teams refuse to adapt and play out from the back regardless until it kills them - and then they're still continue to do it. We did it against the scum.

They're both due back within a week or two, so not sure it makes sense when we have two really promising talents there -- already scratching my head as to how you get both of them in the team. It would just stifle their developments to throw Clarke back into the mix, as much as I love him.
I don't think we do get them both in marra. They are scrapping over one posotion. Best man gets it.

Great position fo RLB to be in. Two players trying hard to be good enough.
Get that for every position and we are in heaven marra.🙂

It's all very laudable to want to play pretty posession football from the back, but if you are being pressed hard by the opposition front 3 and midfield, a longer ball out should be perfectly acceptable, so long as it's not Patto trying to do it. 🤣🤣🤣

There's a saying, never go back. The past is another country, they do things differently there.

Clarke doesn't fit in at Ipswich and fans aren't keen on him there.

But we've moved on too now. Would he really be an asset?

I'm thinking about players who've come back after leaving and done a job for us. The only one I can think of is Bracewell back in the nineties.

There's been odd mutterings of Jordan Henderson finishing his career here. Quality player, but one near the end of his career as well.

The fact is Clarke has underperformed at Ipswich. Perhaps with him going elsewhere, he might come back to bite us on the rear.

I'd rather see someone new rather than someone who's not done well elsewhere. If I'm wrong, so be it but that's my feelings.

The lovelorn admirers of the double failed PL superstar won't have it though

Listen mate, I'm all for bigging up our players, and I have no doubt that Watson is going to go on to do great things... but if your suggesting that Watson offers more now that what Clarke would, you need to put down the glue.
What is Clarke offering to Ipswich now?
Not a great deal, not even getting a game most weeks. Not Premier standard.
Watson is wanted by Brightonnand Crystal Palace, bigger and better Premier clubs.
Maybe you need to start on the glue and connect a few brain cells.

To be honest, it's his own daft fault.
I like Ipswich as a club, but there us no way I would have gone there this season.
They were always going to comeback down.
He's been badly advised by his agent. But all Harte was interested in was his % from the move.
