Jack Clarke

I honestly believe if he’d moved to Southampton or Leicester, the poster in question would have no issue.

I remember when we were doing well around Christmas in the Championship last year him being adamant we were bang average and despite showing him multiple stats as to why we were in fact deservingly top 2 at that point, he would not have it at all based on seeing us play on sky a couple of times (ironically both being games we’d won).
You beat us twice, I thought we deserved 2 draws. You were poor the first game, score a fluke.

I was never impressed by you. I thought you'd fall away. In reality Leeds choked when the pressure was on. They couldn't beat us at home and we were in free fall!

I think Clarke would have been better served by signing for a more established club. I've said that about a million times. Neither Soton or Leicester are that so you're talking rot.
Yeah a couple of posters said, I honestly thought he was.
He probably has a list of clients (working for an agency) of which Clarke certainly seems to be one. He made several quotes about him and his future and he was a regular visitor at our club.

So you’re going to ignore that we were one of the highest scoring championship teams in history, only lost 5 times all season and had 35 more points than you. And that we only went up because Leeds bottled it? Despite us finishing the season well after dropping to 4th at one stage.

And you still don’t think you might be a tiny bit bias?

Also quite a few of your fans thought we were decent in the game at your place. The game at ours came when we had our only bad run and we still found a way to win and revive what was becoming a real worry at that point.

Decent player. Had a very good last season.

Amad was always going to be a star, Jack? Unlikely but not out of the question.

He is no Colin Todd.

When Toddo left any surviving thought that we were still one of the elite clubs but had fallen on hard times for a while, left with him.

Anyhow, good luck to him.
That's when I became disillusioned .

Normal people don't seem to be able to grasp the money footballers earn.

Clarke had already had a big move to Spurs, pocketed about a 10% signing on fee of a £1M, then 3 years wages at about £1M per season.

He would have been getting about £500K a season here for a couple of years here.

So basically he's had about £5M, less 40% tax so £3M through his hands.

He didn't need a big money move unless he has gambling issues. He'd already had more money than most people earn in 2 lifetimes and was still earning about £750K a year after a recent rise.

I would put my happiness and well being ahead of money but it takes all sorts...
When you get wealthier what you consider as essential changes. I can't see a footballer being happy with a three bedroom semi, a Skoda and annual trips with JetTours.

We miss him this season.
We're certainly missing him since Mundles form has dipped and now he's injured. His form dip is probably because he thinks he's arrived and has put less effort in.

As for Clarke, when I've watched him for Ipswich, they seem to be playing him well inside the touchline instead of hugging it. Think they aren't playing to his strengths.

Ian Harte really has fucked this lads development by pushing for moves away, he hardly playing these days, I can see him going out on loan inn January more than likely.
Ian Harte’s job is to increase his and his clients bank balance. Agents are not there to help with development.

Decent move for the lad. He'll have (at the very least) doubled his wages, is playing in the Premiership, and is getting game time playing against top teams. He's still got plenty of the season to get used to Ipswich's style of play too.

The worst case scenario is that Ipswich are relegated with their parachute money to be one of the favourites to go back up. He'll still be getting paid his big wages, and may even get more game time.

He was in the Ipswich local paper yesterday saying he just needs starts and a goal to kick-start his PL journey

Not going to happen is it

Complete passenger in that team. No where near as capable as some on here think. Top end championship with team built around and he looks decent. Always thought he didnt have enough in the locker for top flight
Looks like his manager wants the wingers more narrow which doesn’t suit him at all. Watched the first half and he was he poor. Think he thrived off being the main man here as well which he isn’t there.

What’s the point of buying a player like Clarke to completely change where he plays and stop him doing what he’s good at? I don’t believe they had a long term interest in him I think they’ve just splashed money where they could. Totally killed his momentum in his career so far this move.
The odd thing to me was that they bought two of the best players in the championship last season to compete over one place in the team. It can’t be doing either him or szmodics any good being so in and out of the team.

Who’s the other player in our team that Iain Hart represents? Hopefully the Clarke experience will encourage him to ignore Harts ‘advice’

Tommy Watson I think he's going out with his daughter apparently

You can say that again! 😀

I believe it’s Niall Huggins isn’t it? Harte was a total wanker with how he went on about Clarke mind.
