Jack Clarke

Jobe definitely has a higher ceiling than Clarke... Ceiling means future potential, potential to play a very high level. Rigg and Jobe are likely to eventually play for Champions League clubs. Clarke, Neil, Ballard, and Patto are at a very similar level for me - likely to peak at mid table PL quality. If Patto can sort his feet out, then he might be the best of that bunch. Hume and Cirkin might test the PL as well. If Rigg or Jobe only every reach mid table in the PL, highest market values around 25m, I would find that very surprising. I think they'll both eventually be worth 40 to 50m and hopefully it's with us for at least three or four years before then.
Jobe definitely doesn't IMO. Not repeating it again.

Champions league, dear me.

I’m not suggesting he should be going to a better team, just that he’s been sold relatively cheap. Maybe it’s my rose-tinted glasses but I’d argue he’s worth more than Jacob Greaves or Omari Hutchison.
I would as well, but it appears other teams don't. If he is going, I'm still hoping someone else chucks in a bid for him to drive the fee up!

Just been on Ipswich forum and they have 3 pages on the thread about Clarke. We have over 300. That’s why he shouldn’t be going to Ipswich
I think that's why everyone is so upset. They are a smaller club. But games aren't won on the smb. Unfortunately if you look at club balance sheets - match day revenue doesn't even come close to making up the gap between what they are able to pay in fees and wages. They are in the PL. 30 years ago, match day revenue was probably a much large slice of the budget.

According to Capology, in 2023 Ipswich earned 8m from match days. Sunderland earned 10.7m. Broadcasting revenue in the PL is something like 150m isn't it? Size of the club is only a small piece of the puzzle nowadays and the higher up you go in the pyramid, it's importance diminishes as other types of revenue go up.

Not a chance this will be the case. Why didn’t we just sell him for £1m with a further £14m add on once he’s been an Ipswich player for 24hours.
I suspect that might cause some suspicion.

Accepting a £15m & £5m from the only
Bidder for a player “feels” right.

I suspect the high add on is a way of minimising the payment to Spurs (which is based on the transfer value rather than the add ons).
Cant see this at all mind

We have bought, and seemingly continue to buy players with sell on percentages. If we start fiddling our way out of them clubs wont entertain offers in future as they know we will likely try to screw them over too. Sets a bad precedent going forward imo. Honour the deal. If we want more money thrn charge ipswich more. If they wont pay it then suck up the lesser amount or dont sell

Alright - in 6 to 8 years when he's in his prime - we'll see who's right. Are you going to remember to bookmark this and come back then? I won't. Or perhaps in 2 years when Tottenham buys him for 50m I'll remember to come back to this. But I probably won't.

Yeah, this idea structuring add-ons to avoid paying Spurs wasn't making sense to me. Separating a deal for Al-Hamadi or whomever as a "make weight" does though.

Won't lie...I miss him already!
But hold no grudge to him..
Good luck Jack on your new venture, you gave us all some special moments over the last few seasons.
You've remained a constant professional throughout and that's to your credit.
I, like most wish you all the best lad!

P.S.....bang one in against the mags!!🤣🤣

Behave man
If we're going to judge players solely off that game then Pritchard would have been the most likely Sunderland player that day to have got a Premier League move this summer.

Mental to write Clarke off based on that when the ownership waved the white flag weeks before that game kicked off.

Already been ruled on at arbitration and add ons count for the sell on

I was about to say fair play, but isn’t the lad on Twitter the one who stated that SAFC had taken all the gate receipts from the Mags game in exchange for use of the BCB?

I think he was solid treat anything he states (which is screenshotted rather than linked) with a massive ouch of Maldon.

Yes, would love to see Clarke absolutely skin Trippier. I'll honestly be rooting for Ipswich and Clarke to stay up this season. I always root for the promoted teams and for the blue bloods to fail. More parity needed in the PL. Leceister's season was so much more fun than seeing City, Liverpool takes turns winning the league, paying players 150k a week.

It’s like people forget 2 in 2 versus Fulham
