Jack Clarke

Summerville went for £20m plus add ons and was the PFA player of the championship. Completely gutted Clarke has gone, but they’ve been listening to offer all summer and this was the most we could get. I’m guessing he was offered a new contract that he didn’t want to sign so rock and hard place…
That's the thing, if you don't get a bidding war going on then there is only so far you can take it without messing up other transfers in the pipeline. For me I knew he'd be off at some point so I take encouragement from Ballard, Jobe and Rigg extending their contracts as some sort of counter balance.

We’ll get the same shite we did with Stewart.

We offered a contract and he wasn’t willing to sign and all that shite.

Nah. Harte's been sniffing about the AoL all pre-season like an unwanted rodent, he's definitely done a done verbally behind closed doors and turned Jack's head to submit a transfer request

Ah gerrin, I was wondering how long it would take for the 'We're a one trick pony under Clarke, we'll play better football without him' posts, same was said when Bent left.
The lad pulled us out of the shit so many times last season. Our two biggest goal threats gone in the space of about a year, and not a single player in to make up the difference.

You think we didn’t offer him a new contract when every other decent player was? I am guessing, but what do you reckon out of interest?
I’ve got no idea. Like everyone.

I’m not going to absolve the club of blame though by saying he “probably” turned down a new contract.
