I think people are focusing a lot on the 15mil.

If the add-ons are just appearance based or whatever it’s just basically a delayed payment. It may be that we think we’ve got a good deal based on the sell on clause that we’ve apparently managed to get included? We don’t know what that is yet (I’m not sure we’ll ever know - does this type of thing get included in accounts etc??)
 

If this is true it’s ridiculous, I can understand if an offer comes in too good to turn down you have to accept but selling your best player on the cheap is scandalous. We won’t sign anyone even remotely as good for that money and have no one at the club who can fill in.

2 games in and we’re in a good position but we’d just be writing off the season again

Very disappointing.

We all know the model but for him to be sold, for what looks like a poor fee, is bad business for SAFC. We should have ripped the buyers off, like other clubs do.

Also - Ipswich Town - shows where you are in the pecking order if you aren't in the PL.

It's all a bit of a gamble for Clarke as he has not settled anywhere in his career, bar at Sunderland.

I said a while back Clark would be sold. As will all our better players when their value reaches a certain point.
That’s the ‘model’. It won’t change until the owners change so best get used to it.

IF we made these signings, our attacking options would still be par at best for this level of football
 
Lets be honest, this is a direct result of the management f***ing about hiring Beale, then writing off 50% of the season to a utter whimper finish and refusing to address clear issues with the squad balance.

I think those valuations are a bit north of what clubs would pay.

Some of the valuations attached to our players on here (and seemingly by Speakman!) are crackers. Clarke was the best of the bunch, by a distance, and we’ve taken £15m that’ll rise to £20m if he wins the Ballon D’Or. Now I think that’s on the low side but I’m not at all surprised that’s what they have accepted. They’d have taken that last season IMO

Just have to trust the process now, I’m assuming this Roko lad is a replacement? Or they fancy Mundle.

As annoyed as we are, we can’t say this was unexpected. It was a matter of time. Absolutely shocking bit of business on the clubs side.

What will we do with the money that’s the question? We better having something in f*cking store. That being said we haven’t actually made much from this. Maybe it will be used to pay for the sound system. Top of the line you know? Bose!

I know your trying to be optimistic but the teams pretty shit really. Very little change bar the best player goal threat leaving compared to the one that was in relegation form 2/3 of last season.

That team is absolutely worse than the squad which we came up from League One, accounting for time aswell.
