Jack Clarke

I think not personally.

I think it's very rare for a player so obviously playing at a lower level to his ability signs a new deal.

I think Clarke had his fingers badly burnt at Spurs and loves it here. But he and the club will also be realistic about it if the big boys come calling.
If he signs a new deal, he won’t leave this window. The PR of that alone would be a disaster.

Money talks mate, seriously.

That said most clubs aren't exactly awash with it this window.
There is absolutely no way they will announce an extension, with all of the fanfare, and then sell him a couple of weeks later.

It’s so absurd that I can’t think of one example of it happening. Even in the crazy world of football.

If he signs an extension, he’s staying.

😂

If we got a bid of £25M we'd sell. You are incredibly naive to think we wouldn't. It's just the life of being a Championship club.

I think it’s naive to think they won’t have considered all of that. If he was going to leave this window he has zero incentive to sign an extension in the first place. All that does is make him more expensive/less attractive to prospective buyers.

Let's hope it gets officially announced soon then because I won't believe it till it comes from the club, means another loan CF if any then, we won't be spending anything significant now.

Are you assuming the purchase of Mendy was based on selling Clarke?

We’ve had Harte making cryptic posts, and an ITK poster on here saying he’s agreed to sign. I’m cautiously optimistic.

The negativity on here is genuinely insane this summer.

Of course he does. If a club doesn't come in for him he gets a lot more money between now and January at least. He could pick an injury tomorrow that could put him out for the season God forbid!

We have secured Clarke and it means someone can't buy him on the cheap anytime soon. It doesn't mean he can't or won't be sold.

If he wants to leave, why would he make himself less attractive to other clubs for the sake of a couple of weeks of higher wages? He could just wait to see if anything happens over the next two weeks and if not sign a deal when the window closes.

It’s pure paranoia to think he’s going to sign and then leave this window imo. The fact that something like that has never happened (as far as I’m aware) is proof of that.

Brilliant news if true, which i hope is given the OP’s track record.

If not I’m hunting him down and rubbing dog shite on his door handle.

I don't think we were ever going to pay over a million for him, they allegedly want more than double that, unless we sell someone (possibly Ekwah?) I'm doubtful we'll spend what's needed, probably get that kid in fronm Spurs on loan (or someone of that ilk) and that's it, you think differently?

It's not paranoia at all. It's a realistic take on the situation. Clarke won't exactly be given much choice if X club comes in and offers us £25M and to double his wages. He'll be gone. It's not hard to work out mate.

Maybe wishful thinking but I can see us signing Clark on a new deal, selling Ekwah and singing Mendy.

If that happened I’d be absolutely delighted with our summer business.
