Jack Clarke

Where do you get the info about Ipswich and Southampton being interested?
I asked the question.

I think I've seen some articles of such, but nothing that looks concrete?

Not sure how solid those 'links' are.

Starting to get dangerous now.

He's clearly not going to sign a new contract. He'd be a fool to do so.

So if he leaves this month, then a replacement is looking less and less likely by the hour.

If he doesn't leave this month, his transfer value drops with the fact his contract is running out, with only 2 years left on his deal.

Leeds would be a very good move for him. They need someone to replace Summerville and although Clarke isn't as good (and to be fair, they were never going to replace Summerville with someone of the same standard), he's a very able replacement. They are also in a decent position to gain promotion. PL football with Leeds is much more likely than if he stays.
Signs up just to post boro and now jack clarke stuff. Weird

Would be a right kick in the bollocks if Jack moved to Leeds mind. I had accepted he would be going to the Premier League this window and could we deny him that, no.
Posters had my hopes up we might just keep him with a new contract. The way we have started I would rather take a chance on keeping him this season even without a new contract than let him move to Leeds. But this club does know exactly how to kill the feel good factor, so wouldn’t surprise me.

Also have to say I guessed @VidukasLunchox was a leeds fan from the username but I didn't know until I clicked on the name that he's been here for like seven years and written 150 messages on how much he dislikes sunderland and thinks we're shit. f***ing weird man, who spends this much time on the forum of a team you don't like and aren't even your rivals. Like what are you getting out of this?

The best post was when Alex Neil left us to go to Stoke and he came in to that thread to tell us how much better the stoke squad is and how'd they're far better than us and far more likely to get in the play offs. Aged well, that one.

Little old Sunderland filling his every waking moment 🤣🤣

If Leeds pay what we want he goes aa simple as that. But if we sell him with 2 days of the window left the club want slating.

Give Leeds a deadline of if you want him you pay this by x date or he isn't for sale.

No good accepting 20m and it killing our season

Unless promotion is achieved, then there's very little benefit in keeping hold of a £10m+ asset and allowing him to leave on a free.

It would be bonkers to be honest.

If Clarke was the difference between relegation or staying in the league, then yes, it's a good decision to hold and let him go on a free later.

If Clarke didn't make any difference of staying in the league, then no, it's a very poor decision to allow an asset for a lot of money to leave on a free.

Not hard to understand is it?
This weekend will be the true test as I don’t think either Cardiff nor Sheff Weds are going to be up to much this season.

So far though, with a lot of key injuries fit again we look a much better side than the one that ended last year. Hopefully Mayander (sp?) will kick on, and then if we can sign an experienced striker and a defensive mid, I think we have a very good chance at a promotion push, whether that’s via playoffs or automatically.

I definitely wouldn’t give him up for £10m. He is worth a lot more than that and it sets a poor precedent in all of our other transfer negotiations.

I understand the point you’re making, but I just totally disagree with it.

Likes of Leeds would want to make any fee heavily depended on clauses.
Caps, appearances , promotion which is of Feck all use to us just to strengthen a rival…..
I don’t think we will do any deal but a huge chuck of it upfront, as you say with the sell in due by the time we take care of spurs it won’t be worth losing him if it’s heavy on the clauses.

I hope he stays and signs a new deal on much improved terms.
I don't think the type of clubs that would tempt him will pay our going rate.
The ones that will pay it will be a sideways step like a Leeds or at best a newly promoted or lower half Prem team who could potentially be flirting with relegation.
He's not going to go to a team challenging near the top of the table for limited game time.
He's loved here and hasn't once to my knowledge indicated that he's unhappy.
Get yersel a nice pay rise Jack and stay where you're playing week in week out and doing very well.
