Jack Clarke

Clarke clearly wanted a move. Harte has been on podcasts saying he'd be moving this summer.

The disappointing thing is the fee which feels low. Looks like there was only one bidder though and that was ipswich.

Clarke has been outstanding for us. I wish him well and am sorry to see him go. We all knew this was likely to happen though so no real reason to shit the bed.

Barely any from the last 4 transfer windows are good enough. Rusyn and Hjede swallowed up most of the Stewart money.
Why aren't they good enough ?
It's quite hard to dislodge our main 11 with most players worth 5mil plus and still young and improving, but some people expect us to go out and spend less than that to bring players in to instantly get in our starting 11.
You've given up on triantis , mayenda , mundle , Rusyn , seelt already, when they are all so young and haven't had any length of time in the side, just cos they aren't better than Ballard , Clarke and Roberts now ?

People will bleat on about PL football and wages but ultimately Clarke is going to a smaller club. He spent his early career being passed from pillar to post and landed at a big club with a fan base that adored him. He's chosen to leave so good luck to him but Ipswich fans won't love him as much as we did and that's a hill I'll die on.
Brentford, Fulham, Bournemouth, palace are all
maller clubs but look at them go. It’s not about the size of the club but i reckon Clarke just feels he’s earned a shot at the big time. We may have persuaded him to stay if we matched or got near Ipswich’s Premier League sized offer, but we were never going to. I’m just pissed off about the timing, we’ve no Clarke or Isidor for today.

We're always going to lose games or drop points at home. May as well be against Burnley while we reorganise.

Rusyn isn't young.

They do that and we'll likely not get a penny over the 15m initial fee. I've no gripe with them. However, I'm irritated by us accepting their imo bargain offer.
I think I may have hinted that my response wasn't entirely rational. Given the hints about the add ons I suspect £3m is not linked to the teams performance otherwise they wouldn't be talking about it being almost guaranteed. I do hope the 15% sell on clause yields a little something though

I'm not saying fuck off to him.

I am angry about the whole shit show, and at the moment he is at the centre of it.

And the last thing on my mind is wishing him well.

He's gone. Fuck him, and I really couldn't give a shiney shite what he does, or doesn't achieve from here on.

I'm really not feeling generous of spirit towards him or the club right now.

Not saying Fuck off. Just saying Fuck him.

Big difference.

😂😂😂

So you’ve spat your dummy right out to a bloke who’s done absolutely nothing wrong.

Beyond childish, well done.

They’re not as nailed on certainties to go down as this place will have you believe

The bottom half of that league is lifting and any of them could go the journey.
Most of them have 20-30 million pound players sitting on the bench. It’s a huge ask to stay up for any team going up now. If anyone is giving it a good go it’s Ipswich though.

I’ve always thought that the best transfer policy is to always improve the starting XI and the players displaced then become squad players or are sold.

We do need to sign players with potential but the Mundle + Rusyn + Hjelde money could have bought one decent centre forward.

Anyone who doesn’t wish him well would give their had a shake.

But you would also have to work notice as per company policy. Clarke’s company policy would be he works until we receive an offer deemed suitable. Imo, we didn’t.

Anyway, he’s gone sadly so let’s just hope Mundle can do a job today
True. But if the consequence of working my notice period was that the opportunity disappeared, and they showed no preparedness to negotiate on it to an extent of bloody mindedness that was contrary to the industry norm, they would get fuck all but the minimum amount they couldn’t quite sack me for out of me for the rest of my time. And football clubs are in a weaker position, because in effect they can’t actually sack players without losing the value of their registration anyway. This is his job. Why do people expect he’ll behave any differently to any of us?

It is but there is more context needed. I agree it’s a good profit though.

He wanted to go though, so the club have their hands tied…. I’m not disagreeing though, it’s a crap figure.

How do you know he wanted to go ? There was no indication he wanted to join Ipswich… he may have been keeping his options open to see if a bigger club came calling for all you know.
He was happy at Sunderland that’s a fact… that he might have had ambition to play for a top club does not mean he wanted to join Ipswich.
I reckon his agent had really sold him down the river

That isn't true though. The lad wants to play Premier League football and wanted it to be with us, but the Ipswich move as much as we all probably disagree with him is a good move for him right now.

Only an idiot wouldn't wish him well, or at least not give a damn either way.

To blame Clarke in this is ridiculous. The vast majority of people would make the move, even if the money was the same.

Who wouldn't, Premier League football is the dream for any footballer and you aren't getting it with us. Some people are deluded if they think we're better than Ipswich, unless your shite and getting a pay day like some of our dead wood.

Portsmouth?

Don't have a dummy.

Spitting bile.

Spitting anger.

Venting my spleen.

He happens to be directly in the way.

Not our player any more.

And I'm pretty sure he's not losing any sleep over it.

Not as much as you seem to be anyway. 🤣🤣🤣
